I would imagine if two elders asked someone who no longer wants to be a Witness "Do you still believe this is Jehovah's chosen organization?" and the person replied "No." that person would simply be disfellowshipped for apostasy.

Do elders still ask inactive members to write a letter to disassociating yourself from the Congregation?
by RULES & REGULATIONS indo today's elders ever meet with inactive members and pressure them to write a letter disassociating themselves from the congregation stating that, ''you no longer wish to a jehovah witness"?.
i was baptized at the young age of 16. after turning 18, i stopped attending meetings, field service, and all jehovah's witness activities.
i wanted to be with my high school friends, go to rock concerts, have a girlfriend, and live like a normal teen.

JW's will NOT like the first months of life in the Paradise! (University Research)
by fulltimestudent inhave you ever wondered (when you were an active believer) what life would be like immediately after the big a?.
in my experience of the pre-big a spiritual paradise most witnesses were aware of the problem posed by the dead bodies of those slain by the bloody minded, would-be mass murderer jesus.
most liked to quote the author of the revelation, that carrion birds would eat the carcasses.

Why wait when you can experience the post-Armageddon now! Just visit a third world country that was hit by a massive earthquake. No running water or plumbing, no electricity, no lights, no heat, not A/C, no food, and thousands of corpses rotting in the hot sun.
Paradise sounds a lot of fun. I'll pass.

2 Pharisee 3:19 states - "However, if a pioneer amongst you should volunteer for pre-assembly work he shall give two parts to make up for the part he missed."

it has been a dream for 2+ months.

It's not easy doing the slow fade. I did it. The only thing that helped me was a the lack of sacrifice the elders were able to make. They only offered to meet with my family and I on a Sunday afternoon after the meeting. I worked Sundays from 3:00PM to 11:00PM so I couldn't meet. I counter offered with Wednesday nights because I had Wednesdays off. They never accepted.

Jesus Christ: Invented by the Romans to subvert the Messianic impulse in Judaism into Pacifism?
by TerryWalstrom inof course, there are many crackpot theories about all sorts of things.
we hear about them, look into them and laugh.however, once in a great while, somebody presents a cogent and feasible thesis backed up by scholarship and history.watch this video presentation and present your rebuttal (or agreement) for discussion.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uqg8w7ezuq&t=268s.

John. Prestor:
That site is a great resource. It supports my point - If the Gospels are the writings of those who actually traveled with Jesus during his ministry and were considered his closest confidants, why wait decades to pen those accounts?

I've heard that said. I have also heard that demons created dinosaur fossils to cause people to believe in evolution.

What I find interesting about the topic is that Paul's Epistles were written prior to the Gospels. Add to this that the Gospels are believed to have been written no earlier than 3 decades after the events they are alleged to have chronicled took place. That being said, New Testament scripture starts with Paul's writings and not those of the 12 who actually followed Jesus around on his earthly ministry.

First time here - My Story (Spousal Abuse)

Welcome and thank you for sharing your story with us all.
As Jehovah's Witnesses are being exposed more and more for their practice of hiding child abuse, domestic violence is another example of secrets kept from the public by the organization. Many women are being physically abused by their spouse who are also Jehovah's Witnesses are treated as you were by leadership in the organization. Rather than help you, elders make the problem yours by recommending you be more humble or kind to your abusive spouse. Heaven forbid they actually get educated and learn that domestic violence is about control and it's never about the victim. Whatever happens they will never get the authorities involved. They put the reputation of the organization above the physical well being of those in danger.
I also find it appalling that the only recommendation for marital problems is attend more meetings and study the Bible more. Millions of happy married couples have never walked into a Kingdom Hall or read the Bible. I fail to see how that is a cure-all for marriages.
