i'm interested in your thoughts.. the media tells us a lot of agenda driven propaganda.

you're hard pressed to spot truth these days.. however, i'm told that the rona is now just a rotten flu and not the plague we were originally terrified in to believing.

last time i heard it was down in the hit parade to 16th nasty health thing.. all the people and family i know that have had the rona, have been complaining it's a very crappy flu.

I heard new data involving COVID-19 deaths on the radio today. During the first year of the lockdown in the U.S. there was a drastic increase in alcohol related deaths. Depending on the age group (the youngest group was 16 - 20 years old) in increases were from 25% to 35%. The number of alcohol related deaths in the U.S. during the first year of the COVID-19 lockdown surpassed those who actually died from COVID-19.

In short, American drank themselves to death faster than COVID-19 could kill them.

2 years into all of this the U.S. Centers for Disease Controls tells us that the use of an N95 mask, which is designated a respirator, is required to assist in cutting down the spread of COVID-19. All these paper masks and custom cloth masks will not work. Then there is the fact that the COVID-19 virus can be absorbed through the membrane of the eyes. So, unless you have a face shield, the mask isn't going to stop you from contracting it.

I am fully vaccinated against COVID-19. 9 months later I contracted COVID-19. My case was so severe it nearly killed me. Now I have been diagnosed with COVID Long Haulers.

Here is what the doctor of my work supervisor told him when he contracted COVID-19 -

We are all going to get.
The only thing that will help us all is to get it and get over and over until we build up our immunity to it.

Punk - you are correct in your assumption. We need to live with it. People are tired of just surviving because surviving is not living. Politicians are realizing this and they see they can no longer politize it for their benefit.

this is my take on may 2022 watchtower on the seven headed beast and its connection to the 4 beasts of daniel 7. what do you think?.

Truth_b_known, those around him did see him in kingdom glory. It's called the transfiguration.

Jesus promised Judgment Day with his second coming. That obviously didn't happen at the transfiguration. So, the transfiguration is not the second coming.

Matthew 24:34 puts an expiration date of about 73 CE on Jesus prophecy. All of Matthew 24 was to be fulfilled before the generation that heard Jesus' words all died. It wasn't. Matthew 16:28 is evidence of this as Jesus said "some who are standing here will not taste death". Notice Jesus said only some would not taste death. So, Jesus was not speaking in terms of physical death versus an immortals soul. Some (at least 2 people) would still be alive to see Jesus return in his heavenly glory and pass judgment on the Earth. This is the reason why Paul wrote "Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do." Why get married if your marriage was going to be nullified with Jesus' second coming?

To say otherwise is to say "Jesus second coming is true, and since it hasn't happened yet, what he said must have some meaning other than the literally meaning."

Why are group overseers only supposed to share it "orally" prior to anyone going to the Kingdom Hall?
The inconsistency is remarkable. Unless, of course, the entire point of the "Health Notice" has nothing to do with "health" and everything to do with "hey, Mr. Unbelieving Mate, don't even think about a wrongful death lawsuit because your JW wife went the KH and got COVID and died".

Notice how it is always "Jehovah's organization" and not just "Jehovah". That means something rather significant. If it were from Jehovah the would write "...guidelines provided by Jehovah," but they are not from Jehovah. They are from men.

Allegedly the above words we spoken by Jesus to his disciples in the year 33 CE. The expiration date on the prophecy has expired. Further proof that John's Book of Revelations was written for the 1st century and everything referred to the atrocities being carried out by the Roman Empire.

Was 536 the Worst year in history

jws believe that today, the time we live in is the worst time ever in history.

i know cause i just had a jw tell me yesterday this was the case.

he pointed to covid, the russian-ukraine war, the high gas prices and the food shortage happening.

I am sensing that the metric that determines a "worst year to be alive" is based on life expectancy or rather the lack thereof. Here is a quick factoid -

Life expectancy in the U.S. for the year 1860: 39.4 years

Life expectancy in the U.S. for the year 2020: 78.9 years

Conclusion: Life expectancy has doubled

I am of the belief that life is the greatest of all miracles. Even a life of only 39.4 years can be a wonderful experience. External factors do no change your happiness. Your attitude does. Jehovah's Witnesses have a bad attitude towards life. They are ungrateful for the wonderful experience of life in the here and now because they selfishly desire something more. Life is only precious to them if it is eternal and free from pain.

when it comes to the question of free will, any jw will ascertain the existence of free will as needed for any moral issue regarding god, the bible etc.

without free will the whole foundation of what their belief is based on will collapse.. now atheists, at least thats my understanding, deny also the existence of free will.

I think man is neither inherently good or inherently evil.

"Good and evil" are religious inventions. A personal god dictates what is "good" and what is "bad". The reality is there is what is beneficial and what is harmful. The ultimate benefit is one that is mutually beneficial.

I think every decision we make is a spiritual one whether we know it or not. I have made bad decisions and suffered the consequences and I have made good decisions that I know have helped me in this life.

That sums it up perfectly. There are no "good guys" or "bad guys". There are only people. What they do is what matters.
