When I read such a thread, words like downsizing, and consolidating come to mind. Creating a leaner, meaner machine. Getting rid of the dead wood. And I agree with Billy, if ever the nations take out Babylon the Great, why on earth should JWs be exempt from such a purge.

Jehovah's Witnesses: What covenant are you under?
by koolaid-man inask a witness this question and wait for the answer...... in most cases they will tell you they will return with an answer.. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20120105141524aarmwqj.
open questionshow me anotherjehovah's witnesses: what covenant are you under?there was the old testament, where the book of the law was by moses and dedicated by the sprinkling of blood.
(hebrews 9:18:21) and the new testament by the blood of christ under the new covenant.

A JW might answer that he is under the Noachian covenant (= covenant between God and Noah). They used to refer to an Edenic covenant, but I see they now call it the "Edenic promise", according to the Insight-books. Actually there is no such thing as an Edenic covenant. God never concluded a covenant with Adam or Eve. Those belonging to the "other sheep" miss out on all the other covenants, which is between God and the Jews, today between God and "spiritual Jews," i.e. the anointed remnant.

That's one fancy trick
by N.drew inrevelation 6:1-2. the watchtower has jesus in heaven with the one seated upon the throne (revelation 5:1) pictured as a lamb (revelation 5:6)and at the same time (6:1) as a rider on a white horse (revelation 6:2).
one of the four living creatures says (with of voice as of thunder) come!
all authority had been given jesus in heaven and on earth.

From one crown to many crowns. Different war implements, first the bow (Rev. 6), and then the sword (Rev. 19). Both riders are victorious.

I have always compared the rider of the white horse (Rev. 6) with the one at Rev. 19. The one at Rev. 19 is definitely the Christ. Same person, different context. However, the facts of Rev. 6 are sketchy, and open to interpretation, as the different posts on the thread suggest.

Apostates are to be "LOATHED"...
by Lied2NoMore inthis weekend assy first day thankfully over!
had a good laugh at arrogant prick do last talk saying apostates are to be "loathed" and used a scripture in psalms that simply had the word "loathe" in it to support his weak point.
im gonna happen by him tomorrow and tell him his final talk had such an impact on me i tore out proverbs, ecclesiastes, and song of solomon out of my bible cause those books were written by an apostate.

A young circuit overseer explained to me that these senior CO and DOs are "the big men". And now he's one of them. He and his wife would not contribute anything to their stay. They viewed this as a privilege of the brothers. I wanted to ask him about Paul "making tents", "humility" and "not lording it over the flock" but I thought it better to keep my big mouth shut.

NWT Psalm 119:158 I have seen those who are treacherous in dealing, And I do feel a loathing, because they have not kept your own saying.
or,
NWT Psalm 139:21 Do I not hate those who are intensely hating you, O Jehovah, And do I not feel a loathing for those revolting against you?
Wha, only these two qualify. Take your pick.

What does "Seek Righteousness" mean?
by N.drew inzephaniah 2:3. world english bible.
seek yahweh, all you humble of the land, who have kept his ordinances.
but, who have kept his ordinances, means their own righteousness.
-
Vidqun
Now we have to "seek righteousness," (sounds like hit and miss) but in the new heavens and new earth righteousness is to dwell. We won't have to look for it anymore. And if it is the type of righteousness as practiced by the Watchtower, then I will rather not be there. But have no fear, God says He's going to make all things new. So before he can do that he'll have to get rid of all existing structures, including the Watchtower.

Paul struggling with his sexual desires, Romans 7;14-24
by jam ini think paul was having a difficult time in keeping those.
desires in check.
in vs. 23 he speaks about sin which.

Jam, if Paul became a eunuch, then he might have referred to something else. But I don't think so. Paul also said if you burn with passion, you better get married. But some have remarked that he might have been married somewhere along the line, and that his wife gave him a hard time. That's where the "tribulation in the flesh" comes in. So depending on the person that reads his letters, I think you'll get a different answer every time. A woman reading his letter will say he was sexist. A man will say he was practical. Of course the Watchtower will put their own spin on it.

A New Servant's Position ???
by Bonnie_Clyde ina brother in a distant congregation tells us that in his congregation it was announced the society has appointed a brother as some sort of overseer of public talks.
not clear if it was all talks or just the public talk.
he understood it to mean all public talks in the circuit.

I heard a similar thing. This brother would assist the School Overseer. He would also counsel the elders and MS when they give talks.
