  so i had the elders come to my house about two months at the time i told my wife and family that i was having doubts.

  they came by i explained my position and they basically told me i needed to be more humble and just tow the line like many others have before me.

  well i have not gone preaching or to any meeting for two months after that and did not recieve any phone call from the elders, which was fine by me .

  Thanks but no thanks.

  I was offered the visit with the co, I said no. I never heard from the elders again for 12 years, that is until last year when I was phoned and asked to help them with something, something for their advantage and my disadvantage. Unbelievable.

  i can rememebr many such silences growing up in the wt.

  one that comes to mind was back in the mid 80's.

  i was a young twenty something fellow and had gone to the dc in fresno, ca with my parents and my brother.

  Why doesn't the WT close the religion?

  i was pondering the other day, why the watchtower corporation doesn't just sell off all the kingdom halls and hang the jws out to dry seeing they make far more $$$ from business than peddling the religion these days.. then it dawned on me... they need to keep that little sideline going for the tax breaks!.

  Djejjnogg - If it were even possible to "close" my religion, to persuade me over to another religion, another opinion, another way of life not based on God's word as I've come to learn since I became one of Jehovah's Witnesses, someone would have to kill me.

  So, if it was proved, beyond a doubt that your religion( or as you said, if you were persuaded), like all others, is false, you'd want put to death? If that's not slavery I don't know what is. You seem an intelligent person, you should reconsider that decision.
