  i seriously ask this question in light of some ridiculous experiences i have had in recent times.

  a while back,a freind of mine purchased a new home.

  a housewarming party was planned for her.

  "Ladies and Gentlemen, nytelecom1 has left the building. Please leave by the nearest available exit!" .......
  Notice that NYTELECOM1 has not responded. Perhaps he will return later or he has departed. I believe a defense would have been futile, pyrrhic at best

  this is just plain sad.."Hey, he is not glued to his computer..we win..we win!!!!"
  

  I would imagine the mere fact that you visit this site would be grounds for disfellowshipping, or at least, what they used to call, "pulic reproving", or at least taking away your microphone and selling literature behind the counter duties.

  Perhaps if you were honest with yourself (and us) you would have the courage to leave the organisation instead of leading a major double life.

  
  I am completely honest, why would I leave an org that I like?
  I find it interesting that I am now leading a double life, this post went from me belonging to an org that has a double standard because the cong knows I associate with worldly people to me leading a double life..I dont think this is possible so please make up your mind and come back to me. Unfortunately I am going against the very grain that many of you hold dear too. The fact that dubs are brainwashed.

  It's OK guys. NYTelecom has just proven that there is a double standard that exist for JW today.

  If you live in a big city where it's very difficult to monitor your behavior, you can do anything you want and still be 'in the truth.'

  nice try...but i grew up in a small town, and if you read my last post you will see my experiencen...your argument doesnt fly....

  I would have beat the crap out of the elder who narced on me....but that is just me

  double standard???.....i doubt that..again it is a conscience matter that so many of you hate to admit..

  often times this is usually because the unbelieving mate makes it knwon that witnesses arent welcome.....back in my hometown we looked forward to going to the house of a non beleiving mate...this guy had a boat and a pool table....cool....you couldnt drag the elders away
  from this guy..(okay, slight stretch)..but he allowed his wife to pioneer, son grew up and stayed in the org..but all the husband asked was that we didnt preach to him every hour of the day...

  i am not sure as to how to explain this other than, if you dont see it in print than nobody has a right to enforce it as a "rule"

  in my congergation, only a few miles from headquarters,
  I routinely see elderas and m.s.'s at functions with worldly mates. And living in NYC where shcmoozing, is a normal part of job function, we all do it after work.......

  unless you were one of those annoying elite pioneers that got your time in early - i hated you folks.

  actually i suspect that most of the former pioneers here didnt get their time in that often at all.

  Enough already on the whole gay thing! If people around here cant express their views, what is our point! If I dont agree with homosexuality, it is my business. you go on with yours.

  them "go with yours" as you put it.

  As much as you refuse to admit it. There is no "dont associate" with wordly people rule. To the extent that each dub chooses..it is his choice. I often gather at a bar with a few ex-coworkers. and GASP..

  this issue, of course, has been raised before.

  of course there's no one simple reason.

  arrogance, i'm sure plays a role -- the ones that feel the wts counsel to avoid dialogue with opposers is meant for the ``weaker ones'' and cannot possibly apply to someone as well-grounded and mature as they.. it may be a tacit acknowledgement that the society's arguments against debate are specious.
