  hey all,.

  i've been out all day, so i apologize in advance if anyone already posted this info.. one of my jw relatives (whom i happened to see while visiting my dad this afternoon) told my mother that she'd have to "turn in her ticket to the elders to get a replacement.

  " from what she said, they've changed the color of the ticket.

  when out in the ministry, jw's are quick to tell householders that the bible doesn't teach the "trinity" or the "rapture," because these words don't occur in the bible, well how about the following expressions?.

  (1) governing body.

  (2) the "composite sign" jesus gave.

  God vs Jesus

  i've read alot of posts about the mean, jealous god of the bible most were brought up to know.

  i myself have often wondered why a loving god would kill innocent people(flood, soddom & gommorah, the egyptian sons, and why wouldn't he give adam & eve a 2nd chance?

  jw's say they knew what they were to do and they defiantly disobeyed so they have no chance of a resurecction).

  Reasoning on use of Blood to safe lives!

  i don't post very often on this board and when i do i'm quite laconic.

  it's my nature, im a person of few yet concise words.

  that being said i would like to share my brief thoughts on the blood issue as i see it.. all jws are familiar with the words at luke 22:20 as they are read ritually every memorial: " ...this cup means the new covenant by virtue of my blood, which is to be poured out in your behalf.".

  where are all the demon possessed people?

  how come that when jesus was on earth there were so many demon possessd people .. imagine how scared people must have been, creeping down the street wondering whether the next person you met was crased by demons and was going to attack you.. so how did they work out that someone was possessed by demons, who told them?how did they know it wasnt just a disease or other afliction?.

  and were are all those demon possessions today ?.

  you would think that with all the comunication technology today that at least one example of a positivly demon possessed person could be presented to the midia somewere in the world.. or perhaps we cant tell if someone is possessed or not because there are no extra outwould signs and any disease they caused would show up like a normal disease in tests.. maybe we are all possessed and dont know it.

  Did you ever have an experiance with Holy Spirit?

  i have never felt the intervention of the holy spirit in my life.

  maybe that is one of the reasons i never felt like a good christian.. i think someone can take any situation and say it was the holy spirit acting in their life if they want to believe bad enough.

  i saw my mother do this many times.. anyone here had any experiences that they felt was the holy spirit acting in their lives?

  points:

  dubs believe that the bible forbids transfusion, thus divine direction.

  it is better to obey god than to break a law in order to save a life
  why you may ask?

  becuase dubs believe that God can and will resurrect those who
  die in his name. So to die now, if for obedience to Jehovah,is certainly not something to look forward to , but is not something to be feared.

  this was taken from wol, the topic is "why are we lied to?".

  it started out mainly as a discussion on relationships, but justifications were inserted on "when" lying was ok,.

  this is the short answer to that question about the patriachs evading the truth in those occasions: because they were protecting and furthering kingdom interests and not their own, they were backed up by jehovah.. jehovah reveals truth to whom it is owing... he reserves the right to withhold it from those who have no right to it.. for instance, when the brothers under ban hide printing equipment, literature, or even fugitives from persecution, they decieve and lie to protect them, and jehovah blesses them.
