Stargate SG1: False Gods, False Religion

i woke up many years ago, however this incredible series reinforces my beliefs about religion.

i have a vague memory of jws having some objection to logos of some kind in the past, which might be a contradiction to the recent addition of the jw.org logo.. please can someone enlighten me on what their stance used to be regarding logos?.

I always thought it was hypocritical. I think all of Russell's books used a logo of the "winged sun". A direct symbol for the Egyptian symbol for the pagan god Ra.

Pictures of his tombstone says "The Laodicean Messenger" ??

They could never sell that property now without an extensive environmental clean-up.

My question is what knothead would buy this property, knowing who owned it and what it was used for, and didn't bother to have it tested. I don't care "how contaminated" it is - I certainly wouldn't be working there, and I sure as hell would not live there, bathe, eat or drink anything. Who needs Kool-Aid, they have pre-contaminated ground and ground water. Even at a low dose can make people sick with extended exposure. I have heard people say it is a luxury retirement resort. :) Good place.

Think the lawsuits are adding up now? Wait a few years. Bringing in all kinds of volunteers to work on a property that at the same time they are screaming in court that the property is so contaminated they are demanding that the previous owner pay for cleanup? Are they using local water for concrete and other building needs. Hosing down floors before tile?

They should have postponed building until AFTER it was cleaned, and AFTER they knew how much it costs.

My house isn't that big, but I had it tested. Maybe the GB missed that on their conference call with God. Or maybe God just has a hell of a sense of humor - and a way to kill off false prophets who build their World Takeover Headquarters on a waste dump.

If they have to pay to have chemical remediation, the lawsuit to try to recover money could be 10yrs, if ever? No amount of contamination that requires professional remediation is acceptable. The article I read was that is was made an illegal practice be the EPA years before the previous company stopped. Why was the practice of dumping byproduct chemicals outlawed? What idiot bought this property unchecked?

What if the WT/JW are really on autopilot at this point. The original schemers that know the truth, invented a religion to recruit an army of a free sales forces for the publishers products. Time Cards / Points / Quotas - pushing products - really? What does God need with time cards or logs? Building up their real estate holdings with free labor. Which verse was that?

And the original group is past dead. What if those running the asylum have been so brainwashed in the past that they really believe it? Child abuse victims tend to pass on the abuse to the next generation - only recently are people coming out - how many generations has this been going on? They are without any original direction. Autopilot. Just doing what they were themselves brainwashed to believe. What they saw in the past.

Doubling down on a WT World Headquarters - knowingly built on land with chemical ground contamination serious enough to sue for. Sounds about right. Pouring all resources in to it.

I'd like to see the for sale sign on the front lawn.

when i joined this forum i was seeking more people who felt the same way i did in terms of seeing the jehovah's witness organization for what it truly was; a false prophet.. once i found like-minded members i slowly started to open up and participate more in trying to help others that were also exiting mentally and physically.

today, i offer support to anyone who desires it regardless of what they believe or not believe.. so what is your purpose on this board?.

Support. I dated a JW until her family found out. In my reading/research/studies I stumbled across this site looking for answers. I post a few comments to call-to-action posts. I think what shocks me the most is the common theme "I would but I don't want to get caught" and "I would but I don't want to be exposed". What the hell kind of religion is that? If you are a true WT/JW God would know everything you do/think anyway - but here so many are afraid of getting "caught" by humans. WTF? So many people want to be free - come and go as they please, but they are so trapped by a fake religion - a cult - that is only about falsely using religion to control people and make money.

Someone skipped all the warnings of false prophets. No one can deny false prophesies and obvious lies about humans that speak to God. They teach hate of all other religions to scare people to get in line.

A time when people lived in fear of things they didn't understand and didn't have the knowledge or words to describe things and events in terms that are relevant to us in 2015. Why are we taught to live, and believe, in the middle-east over 2000 years ago? When is there going to be some new material? I don't think I've every really read about religion that hasn't been hashed and rehashed 1000 times. And tomorrow we'll go over the same stories again.

It all really confuses me.

You would have to go back and start with Arius about 300 AD. Arius was a Catholic Bishop that decided that Jesus was not divine - not part of God - he preached no Trinity. Many versions of Christianity existed and a lot of arguments. The emperor Constantine (pagan) was sick of the political problems and called for a council to hash out their problems (Council of Nicaea). Arius was kicked out, banished to the north, and ALL of his works were ordered to be burned. He hated Catholics and proclaimed the orthodox Catholic church heretics and apostates - which is really contradictory. The WT/JW carry that grudge/hate of Catholics to this day. The Council assembled the New Testament. Charles Russell, who never passed the 7th grade at the time for whatever that's worth, had been a member of a number of failed churches that claimed many false prophesies - everyone quit. In his reading he stumbled upon Arius from the 3rd century - and for lack of a better term, thought he was "cool".

I don't understand why the WT/JW worship Arius, but use a Catholic Bible that was very intentionally assembled all around the Trinity. There is no scripture that proves that Jesus was Micheal. I think there is one verse that the NWT changes that is very misinterpreted - in a desperate grasp to justify Arius in a Catholic Bible assembled entirely around the Trinity. The entire New Testament is about the Trinity - by design.

I truly don't understand the whole 144,000 thing at all. In Revelations, and I think Daniel, the 144,000 are VERY SPECIFICALLY 12,000 of each of the 12 tribes of Israel. I don't know where and when Russell came up with the idea that it meant some random group of people in Pennsylvania or Brooklyn NY. Again - the Bible says 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel. Yet Rutherford sent letters to Hitler (published online) how he agrees with hating Jews. Huh?

Russell claimed that public was too stupid to read the Bible on there own - he went on to create an encyclopedia set of volumes of how people should understand the Bible. I don't understand that. But yet is known for disapproving of education to be able to think for themselves. He tried desperately to Arius-ize the Christian Trinity Bible. I'm the public, I read the Bible. I don't need a dozen other books to explain it to me - and in very distorted terms. The WT/JW should have never tried to highjack a Christian Bible - they should just read rantings of Russell.
