No historical evidence for bronze age men living to 500yrs old?
by purrpurr inthe bible tells us that noah etc lived to 500yrs old as did many other characters who lived apparently to incredible years.. yet archaeological research tells us from looking at skeletons that have been dug up that the average lifespan was very short.
if a man got to the age of 50 they would have considered that quite an achievement.
when i was in i always wondered about this?

There are some countries now where the expected lifespan is only 49-50 years old. I expect in Bronze age or before it wouldn't have been much different than that, maybe less. -

Piano playing was usually kind of wooden, not much expression that I recall. There were exceptions. In the early eighties there was a phenomenal musician who played at the assemblies. He went on to play the cello in an orchestra. Left the WT, good for him! -

The increasing number of partakers doesn't irritate me at all. I love it! -

Here (Midwest us) they add congregations to the ones assigned to a circuit so as to keep the attendance at the assembly the same. In politics they call it gerrymandering -

The ratio of baptized to attendees has been running about 0.4-0.6%, so only one out of 1000 is indeed low -

WTBTS vs. Islam
by kairos inthe articles and meeting parts have been missing something all along, as far as i can see.. jws are taught to demonize all 'worldly' ( not jws) organizations, individuals and religions as having no value only to be destroyed by god at 'harm-you-gettin'-( armageddon ).. why do they not mention islam?no scathing denouncements?.
the only publication i really remember, was the "mankind's search for god" book that touched on the beliefs and practices of muslims.. why do you think this is the case?.

In Muslim countries it is illegal to proselytize to non Christians. The WT does not buck the trend. And in other places, the WT rhetoric doesn't appeal to the Muslim mindset. -

I had a conversation once with a JW from Nigeria and he was really vocal about demonism. Definitely a believer -

The original is definitely hard to find. I had a reprint at one time. Tried to read it; boring. It's awful.
