I wonder if he was talking about my family. That would be cool!
one young person went to university and not only left "the truth" but his parents divorced!
last night i had jw broadcasting on in the background while i was working, i like to keep up to date with their crap.
which is strange because when i actually was a jw i hated reading or watching their material.. anyway, on the streaming section, anthony morris comes on screen telling me that higher education is bad and "the better the university, the greater the danger".
i never would have believed it if i hadn't seen him say it myself.

"what man among you with 100 sheep, on losing one of them, will not leave the 99 behind in the wilderness and go after the lost one until he finds it?
" - luke 15:4. disclaimer: by posting the following observations i am not complaining.
i am happy to be left alone.
Out of sight out of mind. You have been long forgotten.
with so many aging bethelites being "laid off" after years of volunteer service, what hope do they have of collecting any social security retirement?
i ask because i recently learned that my mother will not receive any government retirement benefits because she did not work enough to collect the 40 credits required.
this got me to thinking about bethel volunteers.
Thank you for your information. I recall hearing (from a highly unreliable source) that the Watchtower paid a minimum to SSI for Bethelites. It would be interesting to hear from others. Just to clarify, you had no other income from anyone else?
the study was on how wt has refined itself over the years by ceasing celebrations of christmas etc.. paragraph 11.
11 what a fine example those faithful bible students set for us!
reflecting on their example, we do well to ask ourselves: ‘how do i view the direction we receive from headquarters?
They are probably trying new terms since they can no longer use "Brooklyn." Eventually, one name will stick. If they want to go with "headquarters" chances are they will end up with "HQ."
lately my mom's gotten into all kinds of weird "power of positive thinking" kind of stuff.
she watches "the secret" and bob proctor videos all the time, and now she's trying to get me into it.
to me her being into this sort of thing seems kind of hypocritical.
I am a strong believer in setting positive goals. I believe that goal setting is critical to a person's success.
I have also listed to tapes and read books from a few of the gurus on the topics. I especially like Brian Tracy. To help me get out of the deep depression as I was leaving the organization, I found his message of goal setting and positive thinking very helpful.
That being said, there is a limit. Just like anything else the message can turn very cult-like.
"all people in the world are currently considered enemies of god" gee i wonder where some poeple get the idea that we are an extremist organization.. " jehovahs chariot is moving forward at blazing speed!
" in what reality is contraction and downsizing moving forward?.
"it used to be that if a congregation reached 150 publishers we would split into 2 congregations now if we have 2 congs.
It become harder and harder to sing the company song. I would love to see the body language when the C.O. made these comments.
jerome over on discuss the truth has picked up on something interesting.. in the july watchtower on page 28 of the article entitled “winning the battle for your mind” the following statement is made “keep in mind that satan does not want you to think clearly or reason things out well.
because propaganda is likely to be most effective, says one source, if people… are discouraged from thinking critically.”.
the quote comes from a book entitled: “media and society in the twentieth century: a historical introduction by lyn gorman, david mclean" the watchtower however, chose to leave out a portion of the quote.. the full quote is "therefore, it is likely to be most effective if people do not have access to multiple sources of information and if they are discouraged from thinking critically.. the following sentence which the watchtower also decided was best not to include states,.

Excellent catch stavro!
i was thinking about this.... in my congregation, i was literally the only one with universitary education, out of a cong from around 110 people.... and we're very close to a very big university, which makes it even weirder.. on the other hand... sooo many here with their own business, mostly small cleaning businesses.
cleaning windows, or cleaning somewhere else... painters.... all have jobs that do not require any education level, cos they never had a decent education.. how is the composition of the jw people/congs that you know about?.
how many painters... cleaners... compared to people with jobs that require higher education?.
"Compared with other U.S. religious groups, Jehovah’s Witnesses tend to be less educated. A solid majority of adult Jehovah’s Witnesses (63%) have no more than a high school diploma, compared with, for example, 43% of evangelical Protestants and 37% of mainline Protestants."

the peoples don´t know you´re disfellowshipped and obey what jesus said in john chapter 6 and apostle paul tought in .
I would never ever consider this as a productive activity. But that is just my opinion. If you disagree, may the force be with you.
