Bad Reasoning, Bad Conclusions...
by NeonMadman inthis is from a daily humor e-mailing i get.
thought the style of reasoning might sound familiar to some of you here.... below are a few examples of bad reasoning causing bad.

Judicial Secrecy
by NeonMadman inlooking over the scan of the front page of the paducah sun that silentlambs sent to his mailing list, i note that the "[judicial] committee failed to show up because the matter had become too public.
'we considered our meeting with one of our members to be a private matter...we concluded that the public circumstances were contrary to the purpose of that meeting and that we should hold it at a future time.".
which should tell us all how to send the watchtower and its minions scurrying - shine the light on their works of darkness!

Hooks in Their Jaws
by NeonMadman ini think it's simply amazing the way the watchtower has shot itself in the foot by bringing bill bowen, barbara anderson, and the pandelos before judicial committees.
it has really blown up in their collective face.
the issue is on the front page of my local paper, and scores of other newspapers all over the country.. remember, when we were jw's, how we were taught that jehovah used the angels to maneuver events so as to expose wrongdoing in the congregation?

Pope Forgives Molested Children
by NeonMadman infrom the onion (sounds like something the watchtower might do if they were more magnanimous):.
pope forgives molested children.
vatican citycalling forgiveness "one of the highest virtues taught to us by jesus," pope john paul ii issued a papal decree monday absolving priest-molested children of all sin.. .

Sudden Rash of JW Apologists
by NeonMadman inam i the only one who sees it as a bit odd that a large number of jw apologists has suddenly come out of the woodwork on this board to defend the actions of the watchtower society toward bill bowen, barbara anderson and the pandelos?
for the longest time, virtually the only ones on this board who advocated an essentially orthodox jw viewpoint were you know and nytelecom/mavman (though each of them could easily be classed with us "apostates" if the watchtower knew of their disagreements with the party line).. but suddenly, we have a bunch of totally loyal, utterly doctrinaire jw apologists posting almost exclusively on threads related to the pedophile issue.
most of them are taking next to impossible positions from any reasonable standpoint.

Is NeonMadman a True Prophet?
by NeonMadman ini recently posted this as a response on another thread, but after some thought, decided i wanted it to be a separate thread of its own.
when i was a jw, i used to have an almost uncanny ability to figure out what sort of new releases would be coming out at the upcoming assembly, particularly after i heard what the theme would be.
i was rarely wrong.

Anyone to St. Louis this week?
by NeonMadman ini'm attending the saint louis conference on biblical discernment on thursday through saturday this coming week.
as the brochure states, it's a national conference on charismatic extremism, shepherding and abusive sects, prominent cults, satanism and the occult, and the new age movement with nationally known experts conducting multiple plenary sessions and over 35 workshops.. just wondered if i might expect to meet any of you there?.

The Patriarch and the Prodigal Son
by NeonMadman ini'm trying to get a copy of a book published many years ago entitled the patriarch and the prodigal son, by joel stanley.
it is an account of his growing up as a jw, and includes accounts of alleged child abuse in his family.
i'm hoping someone here has a copy they're willing to sell, or knows where i can get one.. joel grew up in the claremont, nh area, and became a friend of mine when i was a young jw in western mass.
