CO begging for more MS's

the co is at my husbands hall this week so i tied in to the meeting he was going on and on about how there are 140 elders in the circuit and only 80 something ms's.

of the elders 25 are over 75 years old.

of the ms's it was about 20 are over 75 years old.

@DOC-funny you mention crappy public talks... I went to to hear the CO's Sunday talk at one of the congregations in my area a couple years ago... I went purely because I enjoy good public speakers... This guy was horrible... bumbling over his words... monotone... lack of conviction... I couldn't believe it... 90% of the elders I heard give talks when I was a kid were better than him...

so just for shits and giggles I went to hear the Sunday talk the next weekend from the PO of the congregation for a comparison... oh my god it was horrible... when he asked me if I enjoyed the talk after the meeting I told him to be honest it failed to keep my attention and then I asked him if he'd ever thought about taking speech classes @ the community college... ah the look of shock... but it soon faded into that goofy condescending smile and nod that so many elders are good at... then he shook my hand and told me that maybe he'd consider it.... lol

It really is sad in a way... the one thing they used to be really good at has gone down the drain as well.... it seems the pool of intelligent well spoken people they have to choose from has gotten very small... what a difference 12 years makes....

@WTwizard- I asked you this in another thread but forgot which one and not sure if you saw it... can you point me to the clause that states witnesses shouldn't invest in silver... Thanks!

the first time i heard this song it just sang to my soul... i immediately made the connection to jehovah's witnesses... i heard he studied @ one time... it would make sense, since he's a seeker, that he would want to know what they had to say... i don't know for sure if it's true or not... but when you look at the words of this song it's pretty friekin' obvious to me that this is an epic slam on the dogma of the twooth and how the experience affected him... then again it could just be my interpretation... the funny thing is he's one of the few mainsteam artists that i hear witnesses talk about in a positive light... what do you think?.

@jj123- I definitely know what you mean in finding peace in not knowing... I just couldn't imagine carrying around the weight of having to defend that I had the absolute truth on what God is and what it's plan is for us... poor people....

WT Society Has to be Forced by Courts to Reveal Hidden Child Abuses

in one of the new pieces of information in the new elders manual - section 5:18 - it shows how elders are instructed to keep all judicial committee information private from media or attorneys.

keeping in mind how secretive the wt society has been in hiding child abuse within the jehovah's witnesses notice these instructions to elders now.. it states, " if a member of the media or an attorney representing the accused ( or possibly victims ) contacts the elders , they should not give him any information about the case or verify there is a jc.

rather, they should give the following explanation, " the spiritual and physical welfare of jehovah's witnesses is of paramount concern to the elders, who have been appointed to " shepherd the flock ".

As far as the database goes... anyone here a member of Anonymous? they are supposedly all about exposing organizations who disregard human rights... and they certainly have the ability to make this happen... maybe one of you talented YT video producers could make a video outlining the argument and asking for assistance.... yikes...at work next week i will be spending an entire day in a room with a young jw woman.

(i work at an elementary school and we will be doing photocopying and other assorted things).

this young woman is a gung-ho witness but she is going to be going to college.
