" ... yes, the police, public and media joined forces to find the girl and the perpetrator ... as though she was their own daughter.
that is what we call community committment, love, and concern.

DO YOU FEEL GUILTY ?
by minimus inone of the positive things about this board is the ability to express opinions and feelings.have you ever felt guilty for doing or saying something because of witness ignorance?
i remember many years ago disfellowshipping a terminally ill older woman because she chose to live with her disfellowshipped "apostate" daughter who was caring for her.
this still haunts me and makes me realize the unbelievable power elders can have.

Minimus, I can understand the guilt. I shunned two of my brothers when one was "disassciated" and the other one was df'd. I of course thought I was doing the right thing at the time. My youngest brother who had been disassociated still has emotional pain from this period in his life, I very much regret that I caused part of his pain. I am happy to say that at this time in our lives four out of five of us are xjw's. Only one to go(he is currently an elder), a girl can always hope.

Baptism talk - question
by myself inmy daughter had to attend the assembly last weekend due to the fact that it fell during the visitation time that she has with her dad.she noticed a change during the baptism talk and she was't sure if she heard it correctly.. she said the statement just prior to the two questions was that the ones dedicating themselves to baptistm were dedicating themselves to jehovah and not to an organization.. yet when the questions were actually asked, it asked if they would dedicate themselves to god and that the baptism identifies you as being in association with jehovah's withnesses as god's spirit directed organization .
in essence are they still not focusing on dedicating themselves into submission and obligation to a man made organization?
did anyone else who attended the convention notice this?

I think her grades shows that she does, as much as she says she dislikes school.
At least she can pick her subjects now. I guarantee it interests her much more then the assembly did.
I think she was looking for ammo to use against the dubs since she really didn't want to be there.

ItsJustlittleoldme: Thank you for your reply. My daughter saw it as a two-faced statement and wasn't sure that she heard him correctly. I doubt any of those with many years as witnesses even caught what he said.

it's up to you to decide what this list is about ... feel free to add your own list of persons of significance.
i cannot say anything negative that is untrue about such persons lest i libel them ... such as i could not tell you if any of these names are part of the list of 23,770, because i cannot prove it, and i don't have access to that list ... but as long as what i post is the truth, then that is my defense ... and may the watchtower dare to bring about a lawsuit ... nbc dateline and bbc panorama will also be invited to the party ... .
