In the Electronics industry, we have "hair dryers" that will MELT SOLDER; I've also used an oven that you could drive a forklift into.
In between these extremes, I usually used compressed air, holding the keyboard upside down. Sometimes I would use that industrial strength hair dryer, without turning the heat on, just for the blower. Then I would sit the piece upside down on a towel, preferrably overnight.
That was for the drying stage; if I thought there was serious damage I would disassemble the keyboard and swab it out with Q-tips.
For T-O-H: I could see those crumbs and maybe a sesame seed, so I drooled over a Carls Jr. Famous Star, a la Homer Simpson
(pizza was the closest I could get)

when my son was in high school he received a scholarship for two yrs at our community college .
we were all witnesses at that time , but we encouraged him to go for the education .
he would have to attend night classes two nights during the week that interfered with meetings.
Glad U had that discussion. I watched the daughter of a friend try Astronomy: she ended up teaching. OTOH, my buddy, the Nuke Physicist ( he usually "pimps" [his words; but we're really quite mercenary] himself out as an Engineer) has been in 8 countries all this year on jobs and cannot return home yet!!!
Darklighter has it right: go for the Engineering route. BTW, a consultant that I hired did do work on Astronomy stuff. It is my regret that I missed the time he got us a tour of Palomar.
Storal of the mory: Engineeers do everything; he could still get there by the back door
I never finished school, due to JW constraints. But I still made it to Engineering grade and topped out as Principal Engineer once; usually I was just a Sr. Engineer, toward the end. I recommend the school route. I'm semi-retired, but as Darklighter sez, w/ the shortage, I'll go back yet again.

so it stuck me the other day that modern jw prophecy is notnearly as bizarrely cocky as such past gems like the "house ofprinces" (1925?
) or even the 1975 fiasco.
i would seem thatthey have learned the value of the vague.
Their chances go up if they don't use those #$%&*@ dates!!!!

2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014. january 1, 2015. .
less than seven years remain before we see january 1, 2015. what will the watchtower's message be then?.
how can they explain to the flock that jesus christ is now ruling in his 101st year?.
1914 never happened: history really did a "skip year" back then, i.e. 1912, 1913, 1915. You need to get your copy of the WTS Revised Calendar and Outline of History. You need to attend more indoctrination sessions meetings.
They will do something like that.
And they are simply dropping out of the chronology business. It's only another 6 years: they will have a decade (or decades) of no chronology. Chronology? What's that?

did you read amy tan's book or see the movie of the same title?.
Funny thing: Pearl Buck was mentioned. Dragon Lady went to "English School" @ 10 years old, first in her family. Singapore decided that English would be their official language. 3 or 4 trips ago, I read in the Strait Times that Chinese was being dropped as a requirement for the ethnic Chinese. Singapore has 4 ethnic groups: Chinese, Malaysians, Indians and a few remaining British.
The teacher gave her her English name, from the Bible. Required reading was The Good Earth!!!
And like Hortensia, I read such books on the trips sometimes. 16 hours, one way, of flight is plenty to make a dint in most books.

In Joy Luck Club, I remember the one daughter, the tall one. She punished herself so much; then her mother was too much of a taskmaster.
I don't remember if this was the daughter that went to China to visit the two twins; she said her Chinese was no good. (Wo-de putonghua shr bu hao; neither is mine.)
There is so much grief in the Chinese past; the mother left the twins on the path for someone to take and raise, knowing she was dying. But then she lived!!!
I have seen similar stories in my "adapted family".
At one time or other, on the whole, I doubt there was a dry eye in the theater for Joy Luck Club. Almost all in attendance were Orientals; those who were not were in the company of one. Many were Vietnamese; but I have found that a great number of the Vietnamese community are "ethnic Chinese". Many speak one or more of the varieties of Chinese; Dragon Lady can converse with most of them.

I forget whether I read Joy Luck Club, but I was reading The Kitchen God's Wife. I left it in Asia and never did finish it.

I saw it: with my CHINESE significant other. I've been to her country 10 times and we went to China once, together. From experience: Chinese women are too intense.
