when someone "gos back " to meetings why arnt they treated like the "prodigal son " ?

if jws claim to live by the bible then why do they not welcome back repentent ones straight away ?

is there anything in the bible about still ignoring people despite their "heartfelt " repentence and making them sit at the back of meetings etc.. feeling isolated and so sad , if its not in the bible to do this then why do they do it ?

its not what jesus would have done it is cruel , cult like and controlling !

Your question is easy to answer. In the parable of the Prodigal Son, the Father of course represents God. After the wayward son decides to return home the Father/God responds this way:

"While he [the son] was yet a long way off, his father caught sight of him and was moved with pity, and he ran and fell upon his neck and tenderly kissed him." - Luke 15:20

Notice that when the son was still "a long way off" the father RAN to his son and kissed him tenderly. This is of course what wayward ones that are contemplating a return want. They want to know they are welcome and still loved.

On the other hand, the reason people that return to meetings aren't greeted warmly is simply this: the WTBTS--as represented locally by the congregation--does NOT represent God and as a result they do not reflect his qualities.

I know, it's probably not what you wanted to hear, but it's the truth, the real truth.

we had an elder that was hung up on mens haircuts he had a real thing about how short mens hair should be and even told one bro off for parting his hair down the middle.. even told one bro to shave off his sideburns.. a c.o who was paronoid about sound always telling the bro in charge off.. .

a d.o who orded the attendants to remove crying babys from assemblys on more than a few occations...hans hubler for those that know him..

When I first was an elder in the '90s there was a nearby congregation (Woodley Park, CA) that wouldn't let visiting speakers give a talk unless they had on a white shirt.

If the speaker didn't have on a white shirt and/or "didn't know" it was OK because they kept a supply of freshly laundered white dress shirts in various sizes on-hand for just such an emergency!

I found out about this AFTER I gave a talk in that hall. I guess I must've had on a white shirt because no one said anything. When I found out I wished I had on a blue shirt, or a striped shirt or anything other than white.

So ridiculous.

One time when our circuit was doing some maintenance at the local assembly hall the man that was the PO of that congregation at the time told me that all the brothers in his hall bowed down to him. Never could quite figure out why he told me this. But I do remember telling him that I bow down to no man. For some strange reason he got really mad at me!

Go figure, what an idiot.

I'm a teacher at a high school in California. We deal with bullying every day. Mostly it's just a relatively minor grievance: two kids on the play ground in a pushing match calling each other names. But--as no doubt many of you know--bullying has led to some students feeling so depressed they actually kill themselves. So, YES, bullying is a real problem in schools throughout world. Obviously it continues after school.

Yet, what the WTBTS Society does is so much WORSE than bullying that even calling it that diminishes what they do as if it was just mere childish immaturity.

These are GROWN MEN that CLAIM to be the ANOINTED OF JEHOVAH. They say they are Jesus' "FAITHFUL AND DISCREET SLAVE" for goodness sake. What they do is so completely wrong on so many levels that calling it "bullying" minimalizes it in ways that confound justice. It really ought to be criminal.

After leaving the organization, I find that I am no longer sure of what I believe. And while I find myself doubting whether or not there even is a God, I find myself hoping there is. Why? One of the reasons I want this is to that he will mete out justice on the so-called "Governing Body" of Jehovah's Witnesses for the evil they have so arrogantly foisted on many countless sincere people that only want to be good and serve their God.
