  so where does that leave us?

  the logical consequence would be that i should get absolutely every little piece of self-gratification i can get before i die.

  We were taught our entire lives as JW's that the "real life" is in the future so don't educate yourself, travel too much, allow your children to do sports, or to waste your time in pursuits other than field service, meetings and studying the publications. It's hard to get that programming out.

  This is the real life, so we need to live well, do good and be happy. It doesn't mean trashing our life.

  I know what you mean Craig. It's hard to come to terms that this is it. I tend to think that too, but a part of me really wants to believe there is more. My logical mind tells me "no". This is our life. Do the best we can. I just wish I had known that before I was 50 years old.

  Possible Police Reunion?

  after 20 years, there is some talk of a possible reunion for the police, including sting.. they are going to do something to celebrate 30 years after roxanne came out, and apparently there are discussions of more!

  if they go on tour, will you go?

  i will for sure, for memories and history!

  6:19 pm january 4. england was left facing the prospect of a 5-0 ashes whitewash after limping to 5 for 114 at stumps, leading australia by just 12 runs, on the third day of the final ashes test at the sydney cricket ground.. kevin pietersen (29 not out) and nightwatchman monty panesar (0) were left with a near-impossible task to stave off defeat after australia ripped through the england batting after tea.. the nadir came in the penultimate over of the day when captain andrew flintoff was stumped for 7 after being judged out of his ground by the slenderest of margins as he played forward to shane warne.. but alastair cook (4); andrew strauss (24); ian bell (28), and paul collingwood (17) had all failed to fire as australia closed in on what will be the first five-test ashes series whitewash since 1920/21.. the australians were buoyed by a bravura batting performance from warne, who earlier top-scored with 71 as australia piled up 393 all out just before tea to take a first-innings lead of 102 runs.. brett lee (2-34) and stuart clark (2-29) then combined to keep australia in the driver's seat.. lee started the rout in just the third over of the innings when he had cook caught behind.. clark trapped strauss, before lee and wicket-keeper adam gilchrist combined again to remove bell.. collingwood and pietersen added 34 runs for the fourth wicket before collingwood edged a catch to a diving matthew hayden in the gully to make it 4 for 98.australian innings .

  I read the title of this thread and knew exactly what it was about,

  I thought I did too................but I thought it was going to be about soccer. Cricket is beyond my ability to understand.

  i swear we could write a novel about our life exiting the watchtower!!

  ok..many of you read what happened..our house was egged and so was my sisters car that was parked here, and "frosty" was attacked!!

  HOWEVER, since I also agree that this is a hate crime and it's one that is perpetuated by the teachings of the organization, couldn't this be expanded to include the WBTS and show that it was done under their influence? Think BIG here - this could become a class action if other step forward.

  No, I think this is a bad idea. Once their lawyers are involved, money is no object. You would never be able to keep the lawsuit going.

  Not sure I would press charges, though. I would definitely call the newspapers and a TV reporter I've come to know a little bit.

  i am beyond tired and sad, this has nothing to do with shunning, or throwing them out.

  my heart hurts but i know i must stand firm.. r..

  Yikes, you have been enabling him.....................but I'm sure you realize that.

  He very badly needs to grow up. We raised 4 teenagers (that time of their life does seem to stand out) and survived. You will too, and so will your son.

  well they were talking about pat robertsons prediction, and sherri said she is leary, as she use to belong to a religion, where they went door to door and handed out pamphletss, and said the end was coming in 1995.

  (although i think she meant 1975).

  I saw it the day Rosie said all those things about Donald Trump, and I really thought she went too far. I like her very much, and agree with most of what she says, but she kind of went ballistic about his morals, and how he says he is a self made man, informing everyone about the inheritance he got from his rich family.

  But he was just vicious in his retaliation and fired back with horrible insults about her weight, her looks, and her talent. He said she lost her first TV show because of no talent, and low ratings, and even said she was fired, and that is not true. Everytime he is interviewed about her, he says worse things. She hasn't said anything since the first time. So I have concluded that you don't criticize Donald Trump!! His mammoth ego cannot take it.

  Barbara Walters also said today that Rosie left her first show several years ago because she wanted to spend more time with her children. The show was not a failure.

  I used to give Donald the benefit of the doubt, but now I think he is a creep. Wish I could think of a better word.

  i'm still somewhat hopeful my family will one day 'see the light'.

  in your experience, did any of your family members finally understand your reason for leaving and communicate with you as a family member and not an apostate?.

  My mother was very hurt for a long time, but one day after maybe 5 years, she told me that she respected my intelligence and she knew I wouldn't have done such a difficult thing if I didn't really believe I was right.

  She also said we have freedom of religion in this country which makes me free to decide and allows her the freedom to be a JW, so after that we just never talk about it.

  I don't know what your situation is, but we practiced tough love on our second son 20 years ago.

  It didn't work. Love worked. Unconditional love. When he knew he had the love and support of his family, he had the incentive to straighten his life out, and he did just that.

  Rosie replaced Meredit Vierah and is on vacation now.

  Barbara Walters continued to defend her today and said Donald Trump is wrong, and that she does not regret hiring her, just the opposite. She was great and told everyone the ratings are the highest ever since Rosie joined the show.

  is homeopathy ( the treatment of a disease using, in small doses, drugs that produce symtoms like those of the disease so that one's natural immune system can fight off the disease ) popular among active jw's ?

  my son who was raised as a jw has a large ( adult male palm size ) fatty growth on his back.

  his jw mother is treating him with homeopathy, as is a so called doctor.
