Is it me or is that ewatchman guy way too negative?
by Inisc inhas everyone heard of him, robert king?.
i occasionally have a look on his site, at times when im not sure what i believe.
i'm sliding towards atheism but i'm not completely sure either way.. the more reading i do of things of a scientific nature, the more i edge towards no god, but i like to analyse both sides of an idea.. anyway, whenever i read anything on kings website, it just seems he is a bit of doomsday cultist himself, i mean he has all these links to conspiracy sites, and all manner of negative scary articles about nuclear war and famine etc.

I don't get that guy at all. He claims to be of the "watchman class" (eeps) he is no longer a JW but everying is "the WT says this the WT says that" Might as well be a JW if that's all you are going to teach is what the WT says. I once asked him a question about the history of this organization, he replied he had no clue what I was talking about, that told me what I needed to know right there.
I did have a JW tell me "you should listen to ewatchman" I was like are you mad??? Leave one false prophet to jump in bed with another? Have to pass on that one.

I know for myself, I freaked out. OMG so much of what I thought I knew is wrong, or could be wrong, because this organization turns out to be false. What do I do now? Armageddon is like 2 minutes away and I am totally lost! What do I do???? (simplified version of my particular journey thru freaking out)
Randy Watters gave me the best advice when I mentioned it to him. "Pray, and ask God for a time out, to recover from post traumatic stress." I have to tell you, for me that was the best advice I got, other than research this organization.
It took the pressure off me, gave me permission to slow down, relax. It removed the panic I was having, and allowed me to look, listen, read, etc without forcing things one way or the other based on fear of "running out of time"
It is almost a year later, and to be honest, I am still in the "I don't know" stage. I will tell you however, I feel so much better about all of it, in this search mode, than I ever did when I "knew" the "truth". I think once you get in the "this is the truth" dogma, you close yourself off to what can be revealed. When men are revealing things to you, God can't, the men are in the way. Just ask for a time out.

Faith without works is dead?
by jemba inmy crazy brainwashed parents have devoted their lives to this cult, to the detriment of their children.
i recently told my mum that i needed to stop anything jw because of the anxiety and depression it has caused me for over 30 years.
she said 'oh well if thats what you have to do... but you know armaggedon is just around the corner and jehovah expects us to toe the line... faith without works is dead.'.

They totally warp that scripture like the do so many else. Faith without works is dead, if you were to read that whole thing in context is is about changing a lifestyle.
Faith without works is your faith, changes you, you take a different path. Works is you can no longer WILLFULLY do what you BELIEVE to be wrong. Works is not how much time you put in how many meetings you go to etc. You can't earn salvation.
Ephesians 2:8-9 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast." What is the JWs claim to fame?...we are the only ones going door to door....boasting.
Romans 11:6 "But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace." -- It is like saying, here I have a free gift for you, I am giving you this wonderful thing just because I love you here you go. Oh by the way, what time can you be here Saturday? For what you ask? Oh to work off that free gift I just gave you out of love.
The problem in Watchtowerland is that the NT isn't for the "other sheep". The other sheep get the scraps off the table. Jesus and his promises, words, etc are only for the "anointed" again in Watchtowerland that really only means the GB. The job of the other sheep is to "assist" the GB, work for the GB, suffer for the GB, OBEY THE GB. They even use the scripture in Matt. "you did these to the least of these my brothers you did it to me"....that's how we please Jesus by doing FOR the least of these, the GB (lastest special assembly baptismal talk)
In Watchtowerland, only the "anointed" are saved by grace, or undeserved kindness as they call it. The rest have to work for it, and maybe, just maybe, if they work hard enough, they stand a chance.
Yeah, good news my butt.

Apostasy my ass!
by Glander inlet's call it what it is - disagreeing with the watchtower bible and tract society after baptism into the cult.
in no way is the literal definition of the word "apostasy" applicable to what the cult is using the word for.
it is a buzz word that scares the crap out of the rank and file and keeps them from communicating with those who have become enlightened about the cults lies.. we here on jwn have accepted the wt label, "apostates", with a sense of humor, such as calling our get togethers apostafests, etc.. but we are actually the "enlightened"..

I agree totally. I know some who don't care for it, but I, for one am proud to be an apostate of the WT. Turned my back on a genuine false prophet, a destructive mind control cult. It's a badge I wear proudly.
It also, for me, is a big F/U to the WT. It is a clear and difinitive statement to the fact "I see thru your BS, you are no longer pulling one over on me"

Unsubstantiated Rumors In Recent Years
by metatron inacross the past several years, various rumors have appeared on this and other websites.
if anyone else has knowledge about them, i'd be glad to hear more about them.
again, these are only rumors that i've wondered about but could never get more information on.. 1) henschel documents- long before the watchtower's alliance with the un was exposed, a rumor appeared from europe that watchtower president milton henschel carried some kind of diplomatic identification from the un!

I try very hard to stay out of the speculation business. If I can't find evidence, I have to let it go, personally, or I do my best anyway.
#4 is believable because that does happen, it's common.
The rest I am curious about, but I need proof, documentation, etc.
As 00DAD said, there is already overwhelming evidence to prove they are anything BUT God's organization without it.
