i really don't think we are in the last days.

i came to the conclusion that 1914 is false and is no more than another year in man's history, so hence we are not living in the last days prophesied by jesus.

TO answer your post. Records of events have been up until lately scetchy and accurate event recording is poorly accounted. You see more strife with people and humanity because there are so many people on the plaent so earthquakes effect more people. Krakatoa was the first ever recorded volcano eruption but we have archealogical evidence of Mt Vesuvious that erupted suddenly and killed a whiole town in their sleep. The earth has been maoning and groaning moving and shifting for an eternity. The WTBS couldn't predict anything accurately. They tried along with 1000s of others throughout historty in a desperate hope something will happen. It hasn't.

Just to make a point ,... England suffered sulphur gas from a volcano eruption in Iceland. This gas was infact sulphuric acid that killed thousands of people who breathed it in. This was in the 1500's. The gas crossed over the UK and Europe in on summer. This was recorded in parish records but only in the 20th Century researched and found. No wrath of god but a natural event. Imagine what they must have thought when the gas traveled over the countryside???

Humans have a facination for dooms~day prophesising and even the fire of London in 1666 was thought to mark the end.... 666 being the supposed number of the beast. Please, stop listening to people who make well out of telling you that it is all going to end soon ...

UK charity "Refuge" gives response to WT article on domestic abuse

i'm sure by now you are all aware of the feb 15th, 2012 study edition of the watchtower, and its outrageous experience depicting domestic violence.. as you may know, i have been looking into the matter in some detail.

i decided to contact the uk domestic abuse charity "refuge".

they indicated their concern towards the article and offered to help in any way they could.

NIce to see you are sharpening the axe whenever possible Cedars!!! Intertesting that you have found many ways to get leverage to show the WT in a bad light. I say this to my wife, time and time again. There are no experts in the writing department in Brooklyn and their best efforts to be literary are bias from their point of view only. Any medical and scientific information is repeated but worded biasly to make jehovah and the WTBTS to look good which is not always in the interst of their members. I don't think, even if the WT interests were in saving human life or making life easier, could word it correctly without contradicting themselves or their doctrines. I still often see and hear in my head a member from the GB on a DVD smile when he said that "persecution is a good thing". It creeped me out This to me never justifies the WT actions or doctrines.

Which part of the bible prohibits blood consumption because it is bad for health??

i have a couple of posts on here becuase this blood issue is unclear to me.

i was shown by my beloved that the blood contains the soul but does not mention the fact blood is bad for health.

does it say anywhere in the bible that blood is bad for health?

Thanks for the replies,...food for thought as it weere,...moreover ,...Interestingly another "twist" on biblical scriptures. It is so easy to make anything fit when it is required and use it to justify the end results. I guess thats why there are so many interpretations of the same words. My beloved is stil a fledgling and I am seriously seeking a way for her to not sign any blood pact with the devil ( WTBTS). It is beyond reason I think

I wonder why, when quoting and looking for health issues regarding scripture that only a small part of hygene is mentioned. It is crude and at best very misrepresentative of what science knows. Whilst it is interesting to know that Kosher meat has its benefits, I wonder what hideous ailments they blamed on gods judgement and wrath when it was infact food poisoning or some bacterial related illness.

Really sad that JWs use medical issues as an excuse to refuse blood??

i cannot get over the amount of arguements we get into about blood with my wife.

she is medically trained,.. but her thinking is now retarded by the watchtower mentality.

one thing recently i refused to do lately was print a magazine article for her which was about blood complications this was an article from the new scientist magazine.

Very Good point Bluesbrother,.... What is unhealthy about eating cooked blood? If there was would the WT make efforts to defend their avoidance of bloody food.? They only issue they have is the defense of refusing blood transfusion which I find deceptive. The line used is from a mediacal point of videw. why try to prove what is covenant unless they think they started off on shakey ground.

I wonder too which blood fration has the soul contained in it. That will be my next question to any of my wifes frineds who come around hoping to save her unbelieving husband.... lol

Gary, she doesn't comment on it. Since she is Russian speaking for her first language she suddenly goes dumb and says she cannot explain about what the soul is in blood. I have to cover an issue then drop it for a while otherwise I don't get to see her. It's that WT defense mechanism that drives her. I did get her ministry leader to agree to explain issues to her instead of me but I got into a discussion about jealousy and how helpful the bible was in advising that jealous id bad for health. When I asked if god gets ill beause he is quite a self admitted jealous god she started to squirm and explain to me that it was a different kind of jealously. I need at leat a month between encounters with the dubs. ( even if they come around more often).

The ever changing opinions of the WTBTS....... They definitely are not medical experts and I have had some really heafty reading material shoved under my nose without any guidance to who the medical world interpret it. Thank you for the comments however this issue is far from over. I wonder why the issue of eating blood products is never covered?

This was the issue when they cannonised the bible. Seen claims that there are many books not included in the bible because of their vaguemenss. I asked why the NWT left out the Apocrapha that had been in the KJV bible. The comment I recieved about the fact that it had strange stories that weren't relevent really put doubts in my mind about the way the bible had been put together. How can one story be irrelevent when the story of Jonah and the whale is really odd and un realistic.

first time i got a chance to read his book, "combatting cult mind control" and was interested to see if jw's fell into the cult mold.

my opinion after carefully reading and having left the witnesses after almost 30 years is... no, they don't.

however, i would add that they wish they were but are simply too big and unwieldy to really pull it off.

Being on the outside and knowing very little about the mind control techniques I will say most definately they use mind control and fear to control their members.. The words "Things are getting worse " is like a mantra I hear often. IF not a cult then they are a psuedo cult which is very much the same thing.

Thanks Cofty, I need to do ore research before presenting this to the JW in the family. I cannot see anything wrong with upstanding a principle however I see this campaign of showning how bad blood transfusions are ( perhaps falsely), is a smoke screen.
