What Scriptural Support Is There For Believing in Second/Greater Fulfillments of Bible Prophecy?
by JWB inwhat scriptural support is there for believing in second/greater fulfillments of bible prophecy?.
this is a genuine equiry into where the idea of second/greater fulfillments of bible prophecy originated.
does it have definite scriptural support or is it simply an extra-biblical religious device thought up to try to make prophecies appear relevant to the modern age?

Vanderhoven7-Thank you for such interesting information. We have all been puzzled and terrorized by these interpretations, you have sorted them out and made sense of them.

Scriptural Grounds for divorce.....
by stuckinamovement ini was watching a dumb show with my dear wife.
in the program a wife tried unsuccessfully to kill her husband.
i remarked to my wife "if you ever did that i would divorce you!

When Jesus talked about remarriage after divorce, he didn't need to mention murderers or attempted murderers. Those that were these types of criminals were killed by the Romans, so one dead spouse could be easily replaced.

Connect the Dots in the Awake!?
by euripides inrecently, i saw an issue of despertad!
sitting around in a public place and leafed through it idly.
at the back of it, on the inside page opposite back page, was something like 'family fun' and a connect-the-dots game of joshua, or something like that.

Billy-How funny, I always did that too! It irritated my parents, but I did it anyway. My kids do it now. Sometimes, it makes for a real improvement.

The gun is the SHUN: the JW's who no longer believe but cannot leave!
by Terry inthe insidious bind the watchtower religion places on their members is unconscionable.. holding family and friends "hostage" as an extortion strategy may be their most potent weapon of enforced conformity.. .
in effect, like an armed criminal who points a gun at you and threatens "your money or your life", the watchtower leadership.
holds the power to separate dissenting members from those whom they most cherish.

Bezalel didn't have to sign his name to anything to prove he made what he made...we are still being told over 2000 years later that he was the maker of those things...so why would he need a signature.
Moses writes about himself that he is the meekest man alive in all the earth...is that very meek and humble? Was he tooting his own horn?
Thank you blondie for your comments. I endured last week's study and will have to again this week. YIKES!

Spanking JW children can lead to Problems
by is there help out there inwe all know jw children must sit quitly in there seats or they are taken to the back and given a spanking.

toronto (reuters) - spanking children can cause long-term developmental damage and may even lower a child's iq, according to a new canadian analysis that seeks to shift the ethical debate over corporal punishment into the medical sphere.. the study, published this week in the canadian medical association journal, reached its conclusion after examining 20 years of published research on the issue.

jwfacts-wikipedia isn't an infallible source of information in all things. Years ago, I worked at a police department, we often dealt with Childrens' Services, it was a chargable offense to hit a child with an instrument, but not with a hand. I know there are some societies where caning people is accepted, as is stoning people to death.
Americans seem to have a very high rate of child physical assault, to the point of killing children, than do other countries. How much of this is related to the lack of social services from child care to medical care to birth control, I do not know. One child being abused is far, far too many. Smacking your kid because she just put some strangers used gum she found stuck on a shelf, in her mouth is another.

Why is the Memorial so important to JWs?
by Ding inseriously.... there's a meeting where wt dogma is taught... nothing unusual there.... they pass around bread and wine and in the vast majority of khs no one at all partakes.. if anything, it is a pantomime of wt teaching that the "great crowd" of "other sheep" have no part in the blood and body of christ.. hardly something to celebrate....

The Borg like to hype up the memoria fervor to get the most possible attendees, that it is around Easter is beneficial. They will then issue a Watchtower stating that they had a billion people in attendance, which means these ones have a righteous heart inclination and may possibly, one da,y become our brothers. So get out there and cultivate that interest.

Latest May 2012 Watchtower: "JW wives must be more lovable"
by cedars inyes, the latest watchtower is upon us.
it opens with a typically outlandish article on marriage.
here are a few of the headlines:.

Why doesn't the husband have to be more lovable? Just the biblical command 'wives should love their husbands'," why gee, okay, if you tell me to." These articles are becoming more and more ridiculous. But, at the same time, make me think that more 'Christian wives' are beginning to think twice about the submissive crap, otherwise, why would they be printing this stuff?
