  Lack of brotherly love at the DC

  i sat at the dc today (yawn!

  ) trying to keep myself entertained i looked around and was wondering to myself how many that were there today were lurkers, trolls & fred halls.

  what were the possibilities that some may have even read some of my comments.

  Song Grammar

  i have a running joke with my son (age 14) regarding.

  the grammer that appears in our kingdom songs.

  know, all the usage of e'er, n'er, pray'r, pow'r, etc.. just imagine what it would be like if people talked like.

  where else this inverted grammar do you find? placing before the verb the object? it sounds to the human ear so strange. yet in the songbook a song without it you will not find. of yoda or confucious it does me remind.

  Directed By Holy Spirit My Ass !!!

  dont you think that it is stupid when you hear the dubs say that all appointments are made by the jehovahs holy spirit?.

  how many times have you heard of elders/ms etc.

  that were commiting all sorts of wrong doings while at the same time serving and passing judgement on others.. i remember when i was appointed ms there was a brother that was appointed at the same time, that accepted the assignment and served for almost a year before they found out he was commiting adultery all the while.. then you have the pedophiles that operate within the congregation some being elders etc.. i know for a fact that i could be a fornicator/drug user/closet queer/ are anything bad and keep it secret and i could move up the ranks as high as i pleased.. hell i could even be a undercover apostate/fornicator/all of the above and still get appointed if i kissed enough ass.. i could pioneer and lie about the hours,they would never figure it out.

  haha, good explanation dedalus. i imagine jehovah starts wondering to himself about the future and then when he starts to see too much he covers his ears and says, "LAA LAA LAA!! I AM NOT LIST-EN-ING!!! LAA LAAA!!"

  Special Judicial Committees

  you will have to understand that i have to change a few details here and there so that i can't be identified.. as many of you are aware i serve as an elder, and from time to time i have been asked by the service desk to handle matters for them by means of "the special committee arrangement".

  (a phrase you will not find in any wt letter or elders textbook.

  ) just to explain.. "a special committee is often set up when, an original committee (ojc)decides to disfellowship an individual, who then appeals against the judgement.

  well jesus personally appointed judas after spending the entire night praying over the matter and the holy spirit apparently knew way the hell in advance that judas would be a traitor. so i guess the holy spirit is not all that reliable.

  i know, i know, jehovah didnt know it was judas SPECIFICALLY just someone. how does THAT work? and dont get me started on 'selective foreknowledge'

  1st door-to-door?

  the society tries very hard to present the idea that the door-to-door work was essentially the same in the 1st century as now.

  the rendering of 'door to door' in ac5:42 creates that impression.

  so do the talks that discuss the missionary efforts then in modern terms (eg "paul was making a return visit here on an interested one") philo's hospitality question earlier shows that we have all been a bit taken in by this.. wt covers like this (4/1/01) sure help too:.

  i apologize if this has been previously covered, but i'm new here, and i couldn't find what i'm looking for.. can some of the recent convention attendees please tell me what is the theme of the upcoming fall circuit assemblies?.

  i "walked away" around 1988, and i have not kept up with current jw events.

  can someone explain the yearly schedule/names of conventions/assemblies.

  it is a little early for CA themes and not many here keep up with their KM reading so dont get offended. i dont think its been announced yet but there might be some that know anyways.

  CA's & SAD's do not fall in any particular time or order. they are usually scheduled anywhere between oct and may and not too close to each other.

  wrong date part 2

  well i went for my study session today and showed her the encyclopedia articles i had printed up.

  she said she didn't know why the date was 586 and not 607, and asked if she could take them to show her husband.

  her husband is an elder so i'm not sure what his reaction was going to be.

  are there any real jws reading this who can give a convincing answer?.
