  A couple of years after I got kicked out, I have to admit I had quite a few guys. I still had the "worlds going to pass away any minute " attiude. So I thought I might as well have as much fun as possible. I then married a few years later to a guy. Had a hell marriage with him for five years. He was a drunk and wouldn't work. At the time I thought it was what I deserved. I stayed faithful to him, but eventually I left him for good. I grew up. Now I am happily married and faithful to a wonderful"worldly " man.

  My witness Brother came to visit.

  my witness brother came to visit me today out of the blue.

  i hadn't seen him in awhile.

  we talked and then he mentioned something about elders in his congregation wanting to call on me.

  Outnfree.

  I saw the KM Aug on this site. It was like my heart sank when he mentioned the Elders wanting to check up on me. He said they had looked up my file . (I was disfellowshipped 19 years ago and they still have the dirt on me) The Elders told him I could be reinstated in as little as three months. I was disfellowshipped for fornication at 17. So I guess now they figure happily married with four kids I won't be out fornicating.

  My JW dad has been also calling here and there. I am wondering if the elders are using my brother to get to me since my Dad I have been brushing off. I have many issues with my Dad. He has been talking and then ignoring me for years. It hurts but I am slowly just letting him go.

  My brother on the other hand , is my little brother. I am 9 years older and I remember Mom being pregnant with him. He was a kid when I was going through my hell years with Dad so he doesn't really remember all the stuff that went on.

  My Brother has had a hard time himself . He has been disfellowshipped before and has recently been reinstated and he married a pioneer. So now he's in good. It's seems the cong. he is in treats him good. they are his family he says. He doesn't really have a relationship with our Dad either he said. I really do believe my Brother loves me and he thinks he is saving me. I told him I loved him too and that why I stepped into that kingdom hall to go to his wedding the only reason for me to go to a kingdom hall ( his wedding or his funeral] that's it.

  It's like a reverse shunning to me. I want my brother in my life, but I do not want him around trying to convert me. It's real upsetting to me , more than having my dad ignore and then talk to me. My brother has always talked to me and has never done anything to hurt me like our father has.

  My Witness Brother came to visit me today out of the blue. I hadn't seen him in awhile. We talked and then he mentioned something about Elders in his congregation wanting to call on me. I told him reasons why I don't want to go back. I feel sorry for my brother, he really believes in the witnesses and since he was raised in it , it's all he knows. He wants me to be in it because he loves me and that is what makes it so upsetting.

  Family love.

  this is a rather sweet story, and i love telling it.

  january this year was the time when i decided for sure that i would leave the witnesses.

  i had made up my mind, had told the elders that my faith had died, and so i had made the ball for my df rolling.

  have you ever been in a congregation that seemed either very lenient or very strict?

  you know, the type that people will say "you can do that in your congregation???

  " i know of more than a few halls where all the elders and ministerial servants had to auxillary pioneer.i know of 1 congregation that has a m.s.

  I went to three different congregations and it was all the same rich ones got away with more than the poor . Each one had a "Brother Drunk" "Brother Ugly Suits" "Faithful Brother or Sister long watchtower study answer" and Sister Nasty Gossip.

  Picky-Ass Christian thrift store

  today, i went to drop off some donated items at a christian thrift store.

  (nw christian) before i went, i called them to ask what they would accept.

  when i got there, the two that unload the free items that i was to donate hemmed and hawed and said, "well i don't know...." now, this wasn't junk, people.

  I go to a thrift store down the road from me. It's a great little store, they take anything you give them and if they don't think they can sell something they put it in their free box.

  What do you like to watch?

  ok...not that there is anything wrong with serious threads (i for one enjoy them) but i was looking through the ones today and decided i needed a bit of fluff in my day (been way too serious lately).

  so my question is..even though its rerun season...what tv shows do you like to watch?.

  myself - i was an avid "x-files" fan but alas they have ended the series .

  I like the Brittish Comedies they show on PBS "Wainting for God" Keeping up appearances" They are pretty funny. Everybody Loves Raymond is funny, I can relate to that.

  Embarrassed

  sometimes when i think back about when i was a dub, i get a little embarrassed.

  i remember telling my kids not to draw on watchtower mags (i also had to tell their mother) i was a grown man and would let nerd elders counsel me for dumb things, like saying the word luck, or bulletin board.

  i remember getting to the end of the month and not having the cong average field service time and start to worry what the other elders and co would say.

  When I was 16 I had a huge crush on an older "brother" who was around 26. I would say hi to him at the meetings and smile at him. He was friendly but he knew I was just a kid so he didn't push things. Well my Dad saw that I liked this guy and told him if he wanted he could date me and he would be happy if he would be his son-in-law! I could have died. I didn't want to marry the guy, I knew he was too old for me, I just thought he was cute. Poor guy could never talk to me again.

  as one who has been reading posts this evening i find it odd that many of the xjw's here are wondering why every jw who sees a program like panorama doesn't immediately quit the cult (yes i said cult).

  well its a rather obvious explanation, in my opinion.

  simply put "you cannot argue against faith with facts".

  When Dateline came out with the molestation cover ups I thought sure my Dad would have at least called me about it. I was molested by a "brother" and my Dad told Elders and They asked the sicko if he did it and he said no. So my Dad has first hand knowledge about this problem. I do not know how he can be so blind, I thought this would be an eye opener for him.
