Thanks For The Warm Welcome
by RJB inthank you one and all for the nice welcome after i posted yesterday.. i already feel like one of you.
i am so sorry as i have read some of the other posts of so many people who have been hurt in deep ways by the brothers, and although i can understand that a little, i can't understand why more effort isn't made to try to correct the situtation.
i could never undersatand why people were so concerned about going from house to house to visit someone who really doesn't want you there in the first place, and then neglect some brother or sister who whould really appreciate a friendly visit.

Heresy of the Month
by thinker inheresy of the month (from a website).
don't you hate it when someone you know comes up with some new thing that you have never heard about?
you sit there in apparent ignorance as they pontificate about the proofs and merits of some idea so far beyond common knowledge that it can only be revealed by people of exceptional enlightenment such as they.

I have had a vision!
I need interpretation.
I am in an oversized bathtub bubbles and rose petals EVERWHERE. Candles and incense burning...The house is silent(my house is never completly silent)
I hear chanting almost angelic in sound.... wait it is becoming clearer...the sound is louder....CALGON....CALGON take me away..
Please oh please brothers help me I fear I will never see this vision in real life.
What do I need to do to make this a reality? -

Well looks like woman are the only ones who know how to pick up woman!
My advise is to NOT look for it, it will find you. I mean don't look for love in every woman you meet. Find a friend or two have GREAT relationships. Forget about your history(no offense). DO NOT talk about your past experiences, and if the woman wants to talk about hers, change the subject.
The past is the past is the past. You can not change this! Just start every day as a NEW day:) If you have a great attitude about life you will draw good people around you. If you don't have such a good attitude PRETEND, their attitude will eventually rub off.
Last but not least GOOD LUCK(sorry luck is demonized) GOOD FORTUNE! And happy hunting:)

Is it Biblical to Shun??
by charlie ini'm not a witness, but i know one very well and we have had many discussions on various topics.
we would both like to know, however, if it is biblical to shun the disfellowshipped/disassociated?
where in the bible does the society base the practice of shunning or groveling back for a long period of time if a person is sorry and wants to return to the church?

Happy to be free YOU GO GIRL:)
I was distracted by her earlier post and forgot why I wanted to post here:) Sorry here goes: The last time a JW came to my door I questioned her about the practice of disfellowshipping. She replied, "I have a very good watchtower article about that, and will bring it back to you" Which she did. Now this was an article in the watchtower dated April 15, 1988 entitled "Discipline that can yeild peacable fruit"
Basically it is about a court case that went all the way to the supreme court. A woman da herself then felt badly because she was shunned and took them to court for retribution(wtbts view of case) Well the Highest court in the land stood by wtbts laws and the woman lost her case.
What I am wondering is......They will not agree to fight for this country or vote on laws in this country. BUT they can go running behind the skirts of judges and hide behind the laws THEY don't even advocate until they need them!!!
Final point... Is it biblical to shun, that depends on your intrepretation of the bible and your belief system.
I for one will not associate with people I find to be repungnant human beings. But if someone needed me, and I felt they had a good heart, I still would give to them all that I could. Because I would want that done for me. Basically we all have a choice in our associations, we just don't have to use a holier than though attitude about our choices. And I feel this is used alot in all faiths not just JW's

Definately WORSE:
See I have demons coming in and out of my house ALL day!!!
Just kidding:) I would have to say i would probably not be on this earth today if I was still a JW. I know I wouldn't have my children. I have peace in my heart and follow my convictions, not those shoved down my throat. I may do things I regret but I forgive myself and move on, not tied down with guilt. No life hasn't always gone my way(this past year perfect example)but I can still look at myself in the mirror.I have had the privelege of meeting several GOOD hearted people, who love God and their fellow men.
And last but not least I too have found a wonderful man, who fills my world so full of his love I walk on clouds most of the time:) It is true you can get laugh lines at 26 yrs old:)
Yes I do miss my mom and other sisters that are still in org.But actually I wouldn't want my mom to leave, because this is all she knows and has paid dearly for her sacrifices. I would rather her be in the org. and have peace of mind, then come out and face WHAT? I think this is the true definition of love. Accepting a person "where they are at" I wouldn't be able to do this in org.

(((((((HUGS)))))))
Having a baby is HARD enough but to do it alone and degraded for it is even worse:( I am sorry!!
If I had to do it all over again.... In my JC meeting I would probably be a smart ass:) I would go into ALL the details and watch THEM squirm in their seats:)
Sorry that was my outburst about what happened to you! But it would be kinda funny huh? And everyone that comes up and rolls there eyes or makes snide comments, I would have a WHOLE mouthful for them.
Let me at 'em:)

I think that is a great idea:)
But I am in NC and travel up there is kinda hard. This spring I am visiting my family in NY and might be passing through though so we will just keep in touch here and I might catch you on my way up:)
I do have to stop and see thinker and his wife(she is cooking for me:)) And since I will be soooo close to Canada I might drop in on my cyber friend up there.
So look out this spring I am heading NORTH:)I have to wait till the snow melts you know!
