Perhaps these men display a "wait on Jehovah" attitude. The raped woman should be humble, wait till the new order and Jehovah can then fix her emotional problem. By coming within the "spiritual paradise" and keeping her mouth shut she will find "the true peace that excells all thought" by following theocratic order and keeping busy placing literature for the WT.

Excellent post and oh so true. To add a thought, does anyone remember the old sister who was starting to lose it, nobody wanted to hurt her feelings, and could not get more than four notes in sequence. I remember it being so hard to be respectful while the absolute autospy of a bad song to begin with is being performed. I remember cracking up more than once and getting the elbow or else.

Access to files?

my question is regarding one's file with the cong after dissfellowshipping.
is more information gathered after the df and added to the file?

The congregation file contains a report of the basis for the decision of your disfellowshipping. It will also contain your publisher record card, plus any collaborating evidence such as written statements by witnesses, letters, notes from the judicial meeting, etc.
The security for these files vary from congregation to congregation. Some just have a simple file box with a lock button, write down the number on the lock button go to a lock smith and you will have a key. More secure congregations may lock the file box in a room with an additional padlock on the confidential drawer. I have also seen cases where the file was in a simple file box unlocked in the library, but not often. If you really wanted access to this information you have basically have two options, 1. Bribe a disgruntled elder to get the information. 2. Steal it. If anyone knows of any other option I am all ears. Since option two involves a crime and if you are willing to go that risk, why not just take the complete file. You would certainly have some interesting reading material and it would be less likely they could single you out as the perpetrator. I am not in any way encourageing you to do this, but as far as I know that is basically your options. Hope that is helpful. -

When the flood came at one convention we stayed in our seats and held our breath till the water went down. We looked up scriptures till our fingers bled and then refused to accept blood to save our lives.
When I became older I started pioneering at age seven, of course back then you had to get 300 hours a month. Lived on bread and water for twelve years, my home was an old shoe box I found and added on to to sleep in. brought 4000 people into the wt and they make up most of the bethel family now.
Oh yes, I forgot to mention I am paralyzed from the neck down and blind.top that.....

either god is not very smart or somehow a used car salesman managed to get control of the universe.. perhaps this is the real plan of salvation, to learn to think and be saved from associating with these bible hugging dipsticks.

To leave someone you have to show up to begin with. I am still waiting for god to show up so I can decide whether to hang around. Its kind of like folks who believe in reincarnation, they have all these memories of being a king or cleopatra or some famous person in history. How come nobody remembers being a nobody who did nothing with his life? Simple, it makes them feel important. So to with the god concept. Remember when you were a kid in school and you had a really big friend to protect you from all the bullies? Pretty neat huh? Everyone wants a big dude watching their back, even if he is imaginary. So whether you remember being a king in a past life or Jesus covering your ass against all evil, it is all about feeling superior to everyone else. Have you noticed how most religions look down their noses at everyone else? They are so quick to say the big dude in their hip pocket is going to kill anyone who isn't their buddy. Kind of childish wouldn't you say?
When you come to terms you are no better than anyone else and we are all in this together. This life is what you make of it now, not some kind of twisted mutual fund managed by god that you can't spend till you check out. I will take my check now sir, never mind the earnings projections, i'll just buy me a good cheeseburger and sit in the shade and savior the moment.
Now if god wants to show up and do something for the betterment of mankind, and he can come up with a good explanation as to why he has been farting around the last few thousand years, then I will be the first in line. Till that day arrives, chill out, enjoy life, be excellent to each other, and stomp a mudhole in the ass of any idiot who trys to tell you otherwise. -

2001 Convention-new adjustments

the instruction talk will feature more audience participation, with the number two talk making some adjustment in the bible reading.
i am not sure what changes will come if any to the service meeting.
