  was a man made date when jesus came and that a generation is not 102 plus years.. why not say something like this.when the disciples asked jesus for a sign and the end of the age.jesus gave them a composite sign and said all these things will take place.when-before the people now living(at the end of the age which no one knows)have all died..

  One of the things the watchtower uses to show that the Bible is a unique book is that unlike other historical accounts the Bible speaks about the errors of the leaders whether, kings, priests or judges. The candor of the bible writers seals their authenticity.

  But JW's hide everything about their leaders. Rutheford was a drunk and a womanizer and loved to show off his big cars.

  Russell had his problems. It appears the biggest job given to the faithful and discreet slave is to take their brooms and try to tidy up their mess.

  If there is a new world the so called apostates will have much more credibility than the organization officials.

  Conscientiousness although necessary for organization easily morphs into authoritarianism.

  • I am always prepared.
  • I pay attention to details.
  • I get chores done right away.
  • I like order.
  • I follow a schedule.
  • I am exacting in my work. (Wikipedia traits of the conscientious personality)

  Look at this list of GB members and the departments they work in.

  Sam Herd - Service Department

  Lett - Service/Teaching

  Splane - Service/Writing

  Jackson - Translation

  Losch - Service

  Morris - Service

  Sanderson - Hospital - Service

  In the local congregations it's the Elders that make up the service committee that keep the organization orderly (clean).

  Read the latest Organization book and you will see how little has changed. The Organization book is the product of the service department.

  So who is going to be the next Ray Franz? Remember Ray Franz was a writer and worked in the writing department. Real change can only come from a creative mind. So you have to look to the Writing department for change to emerge.

  Splane is in "writing" and is intelligent but unfortunately too pedantic and contaminated with "Service Department" thinking.

  Lett works in "teaching" and is a beast of burden not too likely to think at all let alone independently.

  This leaves Jackson. As a specialist in languages he would seem to be more open - almost anthropological in his orientation. We saw how he struggled to deal with the sexual predator issue when interrogated in Australia.

  All the others are Service men.

  So forget about it. Don't expect any relaxation in their authoritarian positions. The fact that they have been content with only 7 members of the governing body shows they aren't interested in "opening" up.

  They have circled their wagons. There is no conflict at the top. The changes are all propaganda intended to keep the rank and file occupied so they don't think too deeply about the 100 years of failed expectations.

  they are late every month.. are these the same people that published 128 pages of magazines by the 1st,8th,15th and 22nd of every month for over 100 years?

  I apologize for basing this thread on a false premise. I thought monthly meant something like rent payment.

  Due on the first. I should have remembered that time and number is a very loose concept with JW's.

  1,260 days means approximately 1,260 days.

  Generation never meant anything definite.

  Everlasting means "time indefinite".

  That's strange. How do you know that? Did you read it somewhere?

  I guess if you can only put out one program per month you are entitled to let a quarter month pass before you get it together.

  Are they understaffed? Can't find enough creative people in the organization to get it done.

  The Governing Body has cut their personal appearance on the programming in half and are relying on their "helpers" to take care of the other half.

  The 700 club was able to produce current programming every day for close to 35 years.

  Of course they had a format that wasn't scripted. They would sit around and chit chat. Why doesn't jw.tv show some casual conversation among smart JW's at Bethel. The real reason is they want to control everything.

  They are afraid things will get out of hand. Also the last thing JW's talk about when they get together is the Bible.

  To have an engaging broadcast requires spontaneity - which is discouraged by the organizations cookie cutter mentality.

  One of my jobs from when I started pioneering in the early 1960's was at McDonalds for $1.50 per hour starting wage. That would be almost $12.00 an hour now.

  Large companies that only pay the current minimum wage are forcing the middle class to supplement their workers income with numerous welfare programs.

  The government should supplement anyone who is working up to a living wage and do that by taxing the large corporations.

  As far as affording education - companies should be paying for the education of their workers out of a super fund. The companies are the beneficiaries of an educated work force.

  The truth about education is that some people simply cannot learn complicated stuff because they have low IQs. We evolved in a hunter-gatherer environment (at best subsistence agriculture) and you can do that with an IQ of 70-80. The poor you shall have always.

  If a person is willing to work they deserve a living wage. That's what nature provided when we developed as a species.

  Churchill is quoted as describing nuclear weapons as

  The Watchtower insists that the Disgusting Thing is the United Nations and the Holy Place is the world empire of false religion.
