  WTS vs. Star Trek

  star trek claimed to be fantasy and in fact, was fantasy.. wts claims to be the sole truth on earth and in fact, is fantasy.. star trek had spock who solved problems with logic.. wts has a gb who solves problems with bullshit.. star trek had a pompous ass charismatic leader whom everyone loved to watch rant and emote.

  wts had three pompous ass charismatic leaders whom everyone hated to watch rant and emote.. captain kirk was always saving his people from new disasters.. wt leaders are always leading its people into new disasters.. star trek made money by always giving its fans the stuff they wanted.. wts makes money by always charging its fans for stuff neither they nor anyone else else wants.. people had fun when star trek came on.. people would rather have a root canal when meetings come on.. star trek was all about making the cosmos a better place for all.. wts is all about making the cosmos a better place for a few and killing everyone else.. people love to go to star trek conventions.. people would rather be in an earthquake than go to wts conventions.. star trek had a transporter room.. people in meetings wish they also had a transporter room.. star trek had lots of insane villains.. wts had judge rutherford and fred franz.

  same thing.. star trek also had lots of good guys.. good guys are banished from the wts.. star trek had the klingons who spoke a bizarre language.. wts had fred franz who spoke an even more bizarre language.. star trek had all sorts of devices which could cure most any medical problems, but of course, they were science fiction.. wts had the electronic radio biola which it sold and said could cure most any medical problem, but of course, that was science fiction.. star trek had floppy disks, computers you could talk to and flat screen monitors all of which were about 50 years ahead-of-their time.. wts had vaccines which were called "filthy animal pus", humans hearts which were the seat of all emotions, organ transplants which were cannibalistic, human personalities which were also transferred with blood transfusions and black people turning white by reading their literature, all of which were 100 years behihd-their-time.. if you missed a few star trek episodes in a row, no one came by to harrass you.. if you miss a few meetings in a row, you are in deep shit.. star trek tv shows and movies are still played all the time, even after 47 years.. wts dramas never even play a second time.

  WTS script writers all died but the actors are trying to put on a show without a script.

  Jesus was mostly silent when before the Sanhedrin. At some point you know they are going to disfellowship (kill) you.

  Why answer their questions? Why meet with them?

  They know they are going to kill you. They just want to goad you into a self-protective stance so they can feel justified.

  If you really don't want to be disfellowhsipped you have to be a total groveling hypocrite and lie, lie, lie.

  i'm still "in" and i've noticed an odd trend recently.

  conversations with jws seem to be more jw-ish than ever!

  in normal conversation, i'll hear: "these watchtowers are just wonderful!

  I was baptized 58 years ago at the age of 10.

  There used to be a lot more spiritual discussions.

  After 1975 and the institution of the Elder arrangement in 1971-2 the quality of discussion declined.

  All they have left is their favorite mantra "soon". They are all desperate because nothing has happened. So they try to whip up some degree of enthusiasm.

  They've created all these various schools and the product is starting to emerge from the incubators. It is part of a strategy to boost morale.

  I would say it's not just you. There is palpable evidence of "isn't the 'slave' wonderfull" attitude increasing.

  Resigned being an elder

  i started having doubts about the org back then and my curiosity overcame my fear of so-called apostate websites so here i am.

  i just resigned being an elder 2 weeks ago.

  Remember that all religions are lying!

  JW's are just a high involvement group that ask for a lot more sacrifice. But time in any religion is wasted.

  Don't do what so many do. They leave JW's and move on to the next love-bombing bunch of hypocrites.

  Be glad that you are young enough to rebuild your life. Remember your life is short and you've already wasted enough on religion.

  A bit of a rant... the selfishness of older generations

  i was talking to mrs cedars earlier about one of the things that really frustrates me about our situation as "faders" - namely the fact that we are looked down on by our respective parents, not to mention other older generations of our family.

  it strikes me that the incessant attempts to drag us back into unquestioned loyalty to the organization is actually extremely selfish, even though (in their minds) they have only our best interests at heart.. i think of it this way.

  they made a decision when they were younger to follow in the footsteps of their own parents' faith - without doing objective research into the beliefs or history of the organization.

  I have been plagued by old people my whole life and I'm 68. It's one thing to have problems with your old parents. It's another thing to have problems relating to your x-hippie/beatnik peers.

  I told my kids if they feel they ever have to put me in a home I would prefer it to be an insane asylum or prison.

  todays scientists can and do insert their trademark into dna.. why couldn't jehovah anticipate scientists learning this technique and stumbling across a strand that says "human by yhwh"?.

  that would have answered a lot of questions.. he could have even included a model number human2.0.

  Apog: The Bible doesn't say what it doesn't say. Here is the state of reproductive knowledge in the early 1800's

  French chemist Jean-Louis Prévost and Swiss physician Jean-Baptiste Dumas show that sperm are the active agents of fertilization in sexual reproduction. The two researchers notice that spermatozoa are present in sexually mature males across all species, but absent in males that have not yet reached sexual maturity. They also notice that mules do not produce sperm, which explains their sterility. Prevost and Dumas correctly theorize that sperm enters the egg during sexual reproduction. This speculation would be confirmed by Martin Barry in 1843. Prior to Prevost and Dumas’ findings, it was widely believed that sperm were either preformed embryos or parasites that live in semen.

  People don't realize the advances in knowledge in just the last 200 years. The Bible is based on all humans being inside Adam when he sinned and therefore they all sinned and have to die.
