I've never seen anyone come into the organization and tear up their University Diploma. I don't see people coming into the organization quitting their profession and take up janitorial work, window washing, carpet laying, car striping.

JWs "Encourage" Their Youth To Invest In The Full Time Ministry And Not Go To College so....
by minimus inif that's the case, ideally, we should all be preachers and never college students or college grads.
but here's the problem for those that adhere to that viewpoint: jw's should not sponsor anyone that has gone to college.
if you support such ones, it should be conscientously objectionable.

Could UFO Disclosure Bring About A Golden Age?
by metatron inthere are a great many people - and internet sites- that preach a sort of 2012/ufo gospel.
while they may contradict one another, they mostly teach that ufo's will intervene and save us, especially if governments admit that they exist.. yeah, ok..... been there, heard that..... but could there be a core of truth to this idea?.
what would happen if the world acknowledged that et's exist?.

Technology and peacefulness.
We overate the technology we have. We won't progress much further than we are now if we don't learn the value of creativity and cooperation.
Big technology involves the coordination of very diverse human resources.
Replay the scene of central control after Curiosity made a successful landing on Mars. Lot of joy and hugging. They didn't beat another team. They didn't win a war with dead strewn around. They put their curiosity to work.
If a society gets to the point where they can solve energy problems they can do away with the basic cause of war.

Metatron:
I don't trust information that comes out of peoples heads a half century after the event. Especially, someone who played the cover up game.
I don't even trust my own mind with things that happened 30 years ago. If you are an eye witness to something unusual you need to write it down and somehow date stamp it. Our minds love interesting stories and with each retelling we tend to embellish the facts based on our listeners reaction.
That's why debriefing immediately after an event is so essential.
Those who use the argument that space is so big and it would take sooooo long to come here and it would use so much energy etc. Need to think about the possibilities that a "multiverse" allow. There may be an infinite number of worlds at the tip of our fingers. The technology for creating a gate may be fairly simple.
Just like electricity. Who would have thought that by spinning a coil of wire next to magnets you could generate electricity. It hasn't even been 200 years since that was discovered. Look at the changes that ensued. Dimensional jumps may be fairly routine. If there really were some sort of UFO crash I would think it some interdimensional extraterrestial tinkerer experimenting in his garage.

The Shared Delusion Of the Governing Body
by frankiespeakin indoom day cults:.
doomsday cults pictures of those that died in jonestown in 1978.an additional commonly used subcategory of cult movements are the doomsday cults, characterized by the central role played by eschatology in these groups' belief systems.
although most religions adhere to some beliefs about the eventual end of the world as we know it, in doomsday cults, these tend to take the form of concrete prophesies and predictions of specific catastrophic events being imminent, or in some cases, even expected to occur on a particular calendar date.

If it's religion - it's fabrication. The difference between lying and fabrication - is lying involves presenting something as true that you believe isn't true. Fabrication involves believing what you perceive to be facts and stating them as truth. We all are muddled. The Bible is believed to be true. It isn't. But the people who base certain conclusions on information in the Bible believe it and repeat it as truth. They aren't lying. There is a certain malicious aspect to lying.

Metatron:
I absolutely know from a personal sighting verified by three other family members and numerous neighbors that we are being visited by aliens.
You know this kind of stuff puts us in the looney category. Since that experience I have attended mufon lectures and have met with people who have had similar extraordinary experiences that totally changed their opinion. Most of the people I have talked to never believed in UFO's. In fact being raised as a JW it was hard for me to integrate my experience with my JW paradigm.
I don't believe in conspiracy theories. I don't believe there is an area 51 where they are back engineering anything. I don't believe in alien abductions that are really post hypnotic suggestions. etc. etc.
I believe in what I and others in my family and neighbors personally experienced in March of 2001. It was a single event that turned my world view inside out.
I totally understand the attitude of those who think UFOlogists are crazy. People have enough problems without worrying about that.
My personal view of why extraterrestials might be interested in the earth.
They obviously are advanced enough to understand that survival is a collective effort. They have solved their energy problems. They have solved their population problems. They have solved their mating problems. They have become cosmic do-gooders.
Don't expect them to reveal themselves until humans reach the brink of anhilation.
It's interesting to see how many here are fellow travelers with the Watchtower Society on this issue.

It's not really lying. It's fabrication. We all make up our own maps that are just a fraction of what is really there.

Evil is not so much personal but rather structural. It takes an organization to create real evil. They do bad things with good intentions.
I'm not saying to what degree they will actually help young people. But they can and probably will do better than they have. Nevertheless, believing in God will handicap them.

Concern for money is important but not because they are worried about their personal welfare. They want money so they can keep doing what they sincerely believe is "God's Work" of saving lives. I would have to believe that their biggest concern is the large number of young people who are thrown out into the world too quickly due to "sins of youth". They aren't going to change the harsh treatment of disfellowshipped people but they are probably going to institute a program of really helping young fornicators, smokers & potheads deal with their problems. Disfellowshipping will be the last resort and reserved for predatory behavior where an individual is using the "brotherhood" for victims.
Back in the 1950's and 1960's they never disfellowshipped for things like necking and petting. If you punish petting with disfellowshipping and a young couple feel they are going to get disfellowshipped for those things they will just say Hell, If I'm going to get disfellowshipped I might as well have sexual intercourse to make it worth while.
If you are a creative person with a strong exploratory urge you're going to get into some kind of trouble. If you throw these creative types out you end up with the squarehead misfits that have a low EQ (emotional quotient) who tend to be antisocial. They become the next elders. Good bye to that.
It used to be that if you shunned someone they would come back for association with friends and family. If you disfellowship too many you just create an exciting community of x-jw peers. Young people would rather be with their friends than family anyhow. The internet also fills that void.
The argument will be since disfellowshipping is the equivalent of stoning you don't want to stone people at the drop of a hat. It will be reserved for really serious cases. There will have to be careful reviews of the actions of a committee. There will have to be guidelines for assisting people who may be bi-polar or severely depressed to avoid suicide. Maybe there will be obligatory meetings where groups of young people can get together and talk about how they are handling their problems. Maybe there will be the equivalent of AA for some who are abusing substances.
Right now you have a lot of parents who struggle with the urge to love and help their disfellowshipped children.

Don't forget the elongated penis like vaginal canal in hyenas. The first pregancy rips open the narrow canal and 60% of the pups die in the process.
Some will probably say it shows Jehovah has a sense of humor. Oh! That's why Hyenas laugh so much.
And then there are the zombie ants whose brains are taken over by a mold and forced to crawl to a leaf midway between the ground and tree top where the humidity is perfect for the growth of the mold. The ant locks onto the under part of the leaf and eventually the mold sends a stalk with a spore body right out the top of the ants head. Beautiful.
Kimodo dragons are neat too. Their septic bite sickens the victim so it dies of infection. The putrid odor lets the kimodo know when the victim is ready to be eaten.
Cookie cutter sharks are worth a look-up. They take nice circular plugs out of the sides of dophins.

Following the Watchtower is like watching one of Tim Kring's science fiction dramas (Heroes, Touch etc.) There are no plot rules. You are subjected to whatever plot is hatched from week to week. And lately, with Freddy DEAD and GONE, it seems to be written by a committee that learned to write while playing Croquet in the Court of the Queen of Hearts.
