Their new light definitely seems to fit with the ever changing lists of what's healthy now in the food industry. The analogy seems like something the JWs might use to their advantage though. I can see them saying that, unlike the worldly food companies that are only out for profit, the FuDS are regularly changing their recipes to make them more healthy. So no need to keep checking the list of ingredients every time we change it.

Ingredients
by leaving_quietly inwtbts loves to compare themselves to chefs in a kitchen, preparing "spiritual food".
and we are to eat that food, without question.
i was thinking about this last night.

New Article on JW.org about gay people
by ateograciasadios inok, sometimes i go to jw.org just to laugh a bit about the 'food at the proper time', and i would like to know what people think of this hillarious article 'am i attracted to the same sex.
does that mean i am gay?'.
this has to be one of the most remarkable pieces of logic (last paragraph of the article).. the bibles stand is not unreasonable.

Readng up a bit on intersex at http://www.isna.org/
Just an fyi it looks like hermaphrodite may now be considered derogatory. (soon to be "The H word")
Never had any idea how many different varieties of this condition there are:
http://www.isna.org/faq/frequency
Seems like this could pose quite a dilemma for religions with strict homosexuality biases.

TheListener,
I was around through the 80s and, although I don't ever remember reading it officially, that was always my understanding.
We did have a transgender coming to our hall for a while and they were told that to get baptised they would have to concede to being a man.
Concede may not be the right word but they would have to live like a man. I forget what we did for restroom usage. -

How exactly is the Holy Spirit 'directing' the WT?
by keyser soze init seems pretty impotent to me if it is.. let's assume, for the sake of argument, that they are merely 'spirit-directed', as opposed to 'inspired'.
and let's assume that there is even a difference(other than semantics) to begin with.
neither claim is validated by the end result.

Maybe it is, just not the way they think it is.
If someone was speaking in your name and you couldn't stop them directly what would you do? And if you could direct what they were saying so that it made them look stupid what would you do?

Confused?
by nomorepain13 ini have been going to meetings since i was a child, long story short only recently i've started taking the truth seriously, i am not baptized but just an unbaptized publisher.
truth is i am so lonely in the congregation.
the other young people in the cong don't like me because they dont think i am going to "stay" for long, i've even worked on the ministry with an older brother and asked her am i giving the wrong impression to people?

Think long and hard about why you want to stay. Not why you should stay but why you want to. Then ask yourself if you will really get what you want by staying.
If you have prayed about it, and I assume you have, take a hard look at the answers you are getting. Don't let fear cloud your judgement when you do. It is very easy to ignore the answers because of fear of being wrong.
If the JWs told you about all kinds of good things that will happen to you by being a JW then ask yourself if any of them have come true. (sounds like you have been around them long enough to know)

Interesting, I don't remember thinking about this before or any specific rules but I also don't remember ever bringing toys to the hall or seeing anyone with them. Some moms brought wooden spoons.
What a weird religion.
It's like they use a dartboard to choose the rule uh I mean suggestion of the week.

Chromium OS is going to be a popular OS going forward. Windows 8 is terrible and costly. Linux, including Ubuntu, can be challenging for the casual user. This makes both of them less desirable. Although I haven't played with Chromium, I hear it’s simple, cheap and pre-configured to take advantage of the cloud. I like the idea but I’m not a big fan of Google using all my personal info. Unless the next version of Windows is a lot better I'll likely be moving to some version of Linux at least on my primary computer.
