What's the one thing you miss about the WTS?

there are times when ilook back fondly on my days in the witnesses, especially when i think on the congregation get togethers we would have every once in awhile (not too often) people from our hall and sometimes others would show up (not too many) and good times were had by all.

this is how the schedule usually went.. 8pm: arrive at the community centre.

8:05pm: scope the room.

Actually, I do miss the get togethers with some of the friends. We had a fun group we went camping and boating with. I wasn't in the goody two shoe click though.

Oh well, in time I hope to make new friends to do these things with.

Did you really go to the car during the assembly? And I thought I was bad one time when I was having a tough time staying awake at a district assembly and walked across the street to get a Latte. I was gone for maybe 20 min. My husband gave me this lecture about how I was setting a poor example for the kids. But they all wanted a sip of my drink!

Question about WT study.

i read a thread recently where syn was discussing a watchtower book study.. is it really true that they ask you the questions at the end of the chapter and make you restate the a few sentences directly from the few paragraphs that you just read as the anwser?.

was syn neglecting anything of importance that would be needed to make a more accurate assesment of the situation?.

because reading back something that youve just read dosent sound very challenging.

After the question has been answered by 3 or 4 different people then brother highly impressed with himself repeats what the other people said using really big long words so as to impress someone with his intelligence!!! He may take up to 5 minutes with his answer. This is how you make 5 minutes of reading material last and hour.

Who really is the faithful and discreet slave?

i was talking to my dad last night and i told him that there is no "organization" that jehovah uses directly.

he quoted this scripture and said "well then who is this talking about" i read the scripture and i have to say i am a bit puzzled.

if it doesn't say what the jw's say (not that i'm saying they are it) then what does this scripture refer to?

Migraines anyone?

yesterday (memorial day) i awoke to a slow, dull, thudding headache.

it wasn't terribly bad...i ignored it really.

neil fixed me a brunch of bacon and eggs and we sat down to eat around 12:30 or so.

Red Wine, MSG, Nitrates (hot dogs, lunch meats, etc), certain cheeses, can aggravate Migranes and of course the big one in my case STRESS! Imitrex works very well for my kids I can't take it because of my family history of Heart Disease and coronary vasospasm which I have. I take Calcium Channel Blockers (Norvasc) and although for the first week I took them I had a headache, it subsided and my migraines greatly decreased. I take the Norvasc for the vasospasm and my doctor says that it is very possible that is why I get Migranes, I could be having cerebral vasospasm and this causes the migranes. Who knows they run in my family. If you've never had one you have no idea what it's like. Oh yeah, when I do get them I take Fiorinal w/Codeine.

Being called Jehovah's Witness, embarrasssing?

even though i was raised to beleive everything the watchtower ever.

said, ... i always doubted that god would destroy everyone at armeggedon.

i couldnt understand how my granny , even thou she was .

After tomorrow night It will be very embarrasing to say you are a witness. I've been trying to tell all the people I work with that I'm not a witness anymore. I'd like to put a sign on me that says I AM NOT A JEHOVAH'S WITNESS ANYMORE!!!

what should i bring to wear.

considering it is at a camp, i'm thinking very casual.

Pinecrest is in California, not to far from Yosemite/Sonora. In the hills.

I am staying at the Christmas Tree Inn.

nice casual or camping casual? There is a huge difference. I am staying at the hotel, but I realize that others are staying in cabins. I've never been to this place and when we go camping it's very casual. I am assuming it would be medium casual as in nice short/pant summer dress casual. AFter 15 years of assemblies and dressing up for meetings I'm still trying to de-program myself!

I can't wait to meet you! My husband and two kids are coming too.

I know this is a typical "WOMAN" question. What should I bring to wear. Considering it is at a camp, I'm thinking very casual. Shorts? Jeans? I don't want to under/over dress.

X-JWs Who are now bible Christians

hi folks,.

i'm just sort of taking role call to all those x-dubs who are now brothers and sisters in christ.

i think it is wise for us to rise up and be counted so that we know who each other are.

I was raised an Episcopalian, visited a few different churches in my teens, got married to a guy who was raised a JW, though not baptised himself. He got me to study with JW saying it was the only true religion. I fell for it, got baptized in 1990. My brain started working again, started having doubts 2-3 years ago. Started really reading the bible about a year or so ago. My husband, kids and I are coming out and currently consider ourselves Christians not JW's (we have not yet been DA or DF), but don't go to any other church presently, we're not ready yet.
