  What would the world be like if everybody was a Jehovah Witnesses

  on the news the other day they showed a young man after graduating from high school went out and got drunk and had a bad car accident.

  he was paralyze from the waist down.

  instead of going into deep depression of what he did to himself he started his life over and went to college and was involved in inventing a exoskeleton for disable people.

  why are the british always depicted as an evil empire, when in 1812 james madison declared war, the british were defending native american rights, and although the eventual ceasefire was signed in gwent belgium in 1814, and both sides declared victory the only losers were the original owners of the land, displaced onto reservations, the native americans, not much of that in hollywood movies, i'm sorry if i'm being provocative, i'm just not getting many posters on any of my threads, lol!.

  Sounds like whoever was whispering in your ear recently watched the Matrix. Or the finale of Lost.

  Anyway, the "Jews" (in quotes because there were dozens of sects) beleived all kinds of different things, just as Christians did the first 300 or so years of their existence. It was a mishmash until largers groups absorbed smaller ones, documents were altered and distributed to support one view over another and finally, an emperor turned Christian and his version got state backing.

  What did they beleive? Whatever they could until they were killed for it.

  The spirit, on the other hand, is the "being" or life force INSIDE the vessel. It is what BREATHES... so that the body/vessel takes in and expels air (breathes, literally). That's why it's often referred to as "wind" (pneuma, ruach, etc.).

  So...the spirit resides in the diaphram muscle and causes it to contract, causing the lungs to expand and take in air? BTW, "spirit" ALSO means "breathe" in Latin. And the Greek word for soul ALSO means to blow, to breathe.

  or, was he a myth, made up 60 to 70 years after the fact.. i for one believe he did exist.

  was the epicenter of oral traditions and overblown hype.

  A polite way to ask someone to keep their hands to themselves...

  what's a polite way to ask a man to keep his hands to himself while conversing in a group with you?.

  this neighbor of mine and i were sitting in chairs on the deck with other people.. he always touched me whenever he said anything to me or i said anything to him.. it was as if he was using touch like an antenna to send and receive signals.. i didn't know what to do, so instead of risking embarrassment for us both, i did nothing but stand up and step away.. i stepped away after he attempted to caress my hamstrings on one leg.. *shudder*.

  wonder why 60+ year old men think that a woman being nice to him means she's hot for him.. also wonders why it's only the smoking, beer guzzling, scrawny, bony, and smelly old men who do that.. .
