paaul's words in succeeding verses show that they are human governmental authorities.
(romans 13:1-7; titus 3:1) jehovah did not originateman's governmental authorities, but they exist by his permission.

having been around the internet for about 7 years now and spent many years on h2o i have observed the activity of fred hall and you know both there and here.
people are of course free to do whatever they want, but personally i don't understand why anybody will bother with these two "village idiots".. why not ignore them completely.

funny old life isnt it....
by Deacon ini was just looking out the window, as it would happen a middle aged woman, or perhaps a young woman worn out with her life walked past.
she stopped on the edge of the mall where my wifes office is, and sat on a bench outside the window.
on close look, she couldnt have been more than late 30's, but probably only 35.. she sat for a while just looking at the ground in front of her, her face just exhibiting that blank look of the world weary.

Do they try too hard to be 'normal?'
by LDH init has occurred to me recently, that a lot of the behavior of jws in good standing is done to trick themselves and others into thinking they're normal.
when in fact, they're not.. example:.
when a young jw man goes to a 'gathering' he will drink one beer loudly and proclaim how good cold beer is!

9. And they DO this so that nobody can 'buy or sell except a person HAVING the mark, the name of the wild beast... OR the number of its name. The 'mark'... is baptism into that organization. The 'name' is 'Jehovah's Witness'. The NUMBER... is 144,000. If you DON'T have these three right, then you CANNOT 'buy or sell' with them... to TO them. You cannot have free access to all of their publications, you cannot speak freely at their meetings, and you cannot participate freely in their activities. THEY are the ones who decide if you are 'of their sort', one of them, and grant you 'authority' to 'buy and sell'.
