The best way to get people to observe some sort of religion...is to tell them they arent allowed too ;)

i was asking because look at all the problems religion are causing :september 11,middle east crisis, waco disaster, clashes in ireland, paedophiles priests, suicide bombings, papal system etc.but think if masses of people protested it my not ban religion completely, but it could make a start to banning it.but the trouble again is that a lot of people want religion even if it is full of @*~t,yeh and why is it that people know theres problems in there religion but wont take a stand, why are religious people are such cowards to the truth.saying that though if i managed to get say jws banned from preaching i would be fulfilling bible prophecy mmm how cool lol

no that is not a description of a piece of rear-anatomy (i don't want to get booted again <g>).
rather it is the rage now.... please check out http://www.leftbehind.com/ and take a look.
the reason i bring this up is because 3 different people i know (not xjws) are all into this "stuff" now.
Xander, if you dont believe that God exists...I'll not argue that point with you...because I really cant prove it.
The following is just my opinion...not trying to shove it down anyone's throat:
The bible basically says that the only way we can know he exists is by faith.
Heb. 11:1 defines faith as being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
So....<g>...it really is pointless to argue whether or not God exists since the Christian religion bases there belief on faith.
I will say that Jesus did exist on earth according to historical references other than the bible...so in my mind...if this man did exist and did perform miracles, tricks or what have you. Wouldnt you think that he had to get that power from a bigger source?
Would that source have come from evolution?
If one does choose to believe in God and the scriptures that belong to him, he will notice that the scriptures talk about the fall of man...the imperfection that was brought into the world by the original sinners... all throughout bible history God pops in and out... helping the Jews...letting them sin of their own free will...bailing them out...letting them sin...etc...sends his son to show us an example of what unconditional love is...we decide to have him crucified...then at the last moment when we are starting to question crucifying him...he makes it so that we have to *claiming to be the son of God was not smiled upon...then he is crucified for our sins....yet the sinning continues in spite of all the written examples of past sins...we still do it anyway...
I think it is short sighted of us to say that God created viruses and that he isnt a loving God. I believe we are suffering for the sins of our ancestors. "Every good and perfect gift comes from God"....I blame Satan for the imperfection and the viruses.
If God made everything easy for us and took away all the sickness...would we love him unconditionally...or would we love him just because he takes good care of us?
Personally, as a father...I would much rather that my daughters loved me just because they chose too...rather than for the things I give them...what happens if those things run out? Will they still love me?
Xander, I've always wondered why do bad things happen to good people....well, those bad things are only happening to us in one tiny moment in our existance...compared to an eternity with God in heaven...what we are going through on earth would seem insignificant wouldnt you think?
But of course, all of what I said means nothing to the person who chooses not to believe in God.
Furthermore, I think, for the person that doesnt believe that God exists...he really doesnt.

I've read all the left behind books with the exception of 'Descecration' and 'The Remnant'.
I chalk it up to Christian fiction...but find it interesting nonetheless.
The storyline is certainly more believable than what the JW's have to offer.
As I read the books...I made sure to follow the storyline with the scriptures. I have to say I was impressed.

jesus here.
i'm sure you've probably read a few books about me in the past or at least about my dad, god (or as everyone back home likes to call him "spanky").
this is just a quick note to say that dad and i are back home now.
On one hand I'm LMAO...on the other...I'm praying for your soul.

sometimes when i think back about when i was a dub, i get a little embarrassed.
i remember telling my kids not to draw on watchtower mags (i also had to tell their mother) i was a grown man and would let nerd elders counsel me for dumb things, like saying the word luck, or bulletin board.
i remember getting to the end of the month and not having the cong average field service time and start to worry what the other elders and co would say.
When I was a dub child the majority of my clothes were hand me downs and garage sale clothes.
My tie collection consisted of stripped, too ugly for wearin', out of style grandpa ties *that obviously were being sold because even the grandpa's didnt like them anymore. I love how mom used to lie out her a$$ to us and tell us that our clothes were in style.
She would tell us that in the new system we wouldnt even need any clothes. *hey mom....ewwwwwwww!
Yes me and my brother were those poor unfortunate dub kids that you saw coming in late to the meetings looking like we just arrived from the goodwill store. OMG...my mom used to wear wigs too...ones that she got from the older ladies in the congregation.
For crying out loud, she was in her twenties...what was she thinking?
So here is the hell of it....we didnt fit in at school because of being dubs....
We didnt fit in at the kingdom hall because of our apparent poverty. Funny, Dad made plenty of money *never understood that
Yep mom made quite sure my bro and I didnt get laid LMAO. The girls at the hall didnt have anything to do with me until I was a senior in high school.
Well, Wildturkey....to summarize...yes...I was a tad bit embarrassed...*like all my waking hours
Sure hope mom's group therapy is helping... :)

dr. phil gave this test on oprah.
some folks pay a lot of money to find this stuff out.
don't be overly sensitive!
I got a 42
41 TO 50 POINTS: Others see you as fresh, lively, charming, amusing, practical, and always interesting; someone who's constantly in the center of attention, but sufficiently well-balanced not to let it go to their head. They also see you as kind, considerate, and understanding; someone who'll always cheer them up and help them out.

a little late this weekend, but your poster has been sharing the truth about 'the troof' with a crowd of eager seekers of truth in the mountains of new south wales.
addressing the gathering were posters zaqen, amos, ozziepost, mrs ozzie and prisca.
what a fine witness was given!
I've always had a problem with Jesus being a created angel. Even as a kid no one gave a good explaination for that one.

note: all single apostrophes have been deleted by simon's software from this word document i just pasted here.. .
one of the problems with any discussion board is that it doesnt allow us much of an opportunity to show other dimensions of ourselves.
my great passion is and has always been serious music.
Farkel,
I appreciate your taste in music.
Although I hated it at the time. I was raised on classical music.
My Dad allowed nothing but classical music to be played while he was home.
Now I find comfort in it.
Never paid attention to the names of the arrangements but I can say that my favorite
all time classical piece is Tchaikovsky's 4th.
Second I think is Ravel's Bolero. *an interesting website... http://www.culturekiosque.com/klassik/news/rheravel.htm
The other composers that I really like are; Rachmaninov, Dvorak, Chopin, Borodin.

what qualifies jehovah's witnesses to call themselves christians?.
unlike other "bible-based" religions who believe in the divine nature of jesus;.
the watchtower bible and tract society claims that jesus christ is the savior .
Nikita,
The WBTS says Michael is Jesus because of the scripture at 1 Thess. 4:16
16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage each other with these words.
Of course if this scripture says that Jesus is the Archangel...then he is also a "loud command" and a "trumpet call".
