If Jesus is the reigning King and redeemer, then he is who we ask for forgiveness of sins. We need to RESPECT his given position. You cannot get to the Father, except through the Son, as it has been beat into my head.
Jesus chose to die for US...and no one else. Not Peter, not Paul, NO ONE else.
So therefore, we should ask Jesus (not mentioned much in JWism except during a brief Memorial) to ask his Father for help.
Who are we to usurp God's arrangement if he sees fit to have his son in charge for a bit? WHO ARE WE?
"Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a stool for your feet". What father would not bestow this on a deserving son who did not shame him? Even a King would do so much for a Prince doing his will.
I do not think they are the same person because that's both silly and Pagan. But, if you were to see me, you'd see my grandmother ... for although we are two different people we look the same and have similar charachteristics. It's soooo bad my relatives call me Lil' Liza Jane. ... that's how much we resemble one another.
I absolutely REFUSE to let the WT or any other so-called Christian Org replace or get in the way of the REAL arrangement.
So what if God wants to give his son some kudos? So what if you want to give your son some for doing a good job?

Its because those wild and wacky Israelites of the day FORGOT how to pronounce God's name, among other things.
Jesus and the early Christians knew it but things have been lost due to ignorance and stupidity.
As for Stephen, et al .... REAL Christians with "the hope" were killed. They did not live to ripe old ages living off the money of others. Just read Rev. it is specific about them being killed (martyred) for their true faith. Like the prophets, they are killed.

Not everyone is a robot, void of all emotion. Just the Elders. Monotoned bores.
Most joined because they wanted to be acceptable to God but they are always being told they are never doing enough. Can you imagine working someplace where you work your behind off doing well for the bosses business but the boss says you are still not doing enough? No raise, no thanks?
Jesus said he was a refreshment, his load was light ... not a heavy Pharasitic "rule oriented" PITA that causes so many to be on Prozac.

I was raised in 3 different congregations and I would have to say that it depended on the congregation. There seemed to be vast differences.
Interesting, yet I have to agree. I've been to KHs from Europe, Latin America, to the US.The US is the only place where I've been and had an entire body of Elders be disbanned ... but now I know why since it was in the early 1980s. (The Franz split.)
I will say, the KHs in the other countries were far better than those in the US. Especially in the caring about one another category. My opinion, mind you. It has a lot to do with the culture of the country. The US is a 'me first' non community oriented environment and that rubs off on people whether they admit it or not. It's more stand-offish and distant by nature.
Think about how immigrants come from other places and band together as a community and lift on another up, etc. Its in their very being to be community oriented.

Nope, phoney. Everything, including the so-called "love", is conditional and quite temporary.
Just watch the behavior during a CO visit as opposed to the behavior normally. People will speak to you who otherwise never speak.
Or start an unfounded rumor and watch as everyone turns on the rumored person w/o bothering to ask if anything being said is even true.
Its stifling; people are always walking around as if on pins and needles and not as if their feet are firmly planted on the ground.
Emotionless "pretense".

End Times Preaching and Armageddon - has the WTS made a new push on this?
by insearchoftruth inmy wife has been an on again, off again sympathizer of the jws.
she recieved a phone call this past weekend from a sister who had attempted to study with her in the past and all of a sudden she is reading all the wts literature she can on the meaning of armageddon and the topic of paradise earth.
has the wts started a new push on this topic as of late??

There's no need for an "org" now so what in the world would there be a need for one in the 'new system'? Yuk! Who in the world would be needing human mediators and go-betweens getting in the way in the "New System"? Why do they think they know better than God? The vanity! They can't even get what God says right in this "System".

As for the wife, tell her to pay attention to what is being said at the CA and the specific use of scriptures out of context. She will be encountering people who absolutely believe some men can never be wrong even when what they say goes contrary to God. Its a high control group, no different from Catholicism in its belief of a few being infallible. That's always the problem when you have a group of individuals who say they alone have a special channel to God.

I have concluded from this topic that my lost brothers and sisters are followers of Paul. Think about it, they talk up Paul so much you'd think he was the Messiah.
The only thing mentioned about Jesus is the Memorial and sheeps and goats. That's it.
Nothing about the fishes and bread for the hungry crowd listening to the Sermon, nothing about helping strangers in a real and physical way, nothing about the prodigal son's silliness and the happiness (despite the silliness) of his pop on his return.
Nada.
