Answer: How Wrinkly Old People Can Make Love (And Not Be Grossed Out)
by metatron init suddenly hit me, as i glanced down at a nice lady of many decades.................damn!
i'm standing so close to her that she has fallen out of my depth of focus .............and she looks many years younger because, like a camera pointed at doris day, with vaseline on the lens, i can't see wrinkles, scars, crowsfeet or much else beyond a smiling, angelic appearance.
hey, this isn't too bad!.

by MsPassach ini am so ashamed that i joined this site!
i thought that i would meet people here that honour jehovah here.
insread most of the people here are not here for the service of god.

Come on Ms. You knew full well what was on this site. If you want to intelligently debate your beliefs, do so freely here. You won't be able to do that at the hall.

Repent because God's Kingdom has drawn close!
by Kosonen inhere on this forum there are so many sinners, many here are doing things that will bring god's wrath upon themselves.
consider yourself if you in some aspect fit the description in romans 1:28-32:.
and just as they did not approve of holding god in accurate knowledge, god gave them up to a disapproved mental state, to do the things not fitting, filled as they were with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, badness, being full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malicious disposition, being whisperers, backbiters, haters of god, insolent, haughty, self-assuming, inventors of injurious things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, false to agreements, having no natural affection, merciless.

Just checking in at end. How'd this go from us all being destroyed to maple syrup? I'll bet those sneaky monkeys are at the bottom of this again.

Are you sure leaving is a wise decision ?- Lurkers think twice- Part 2
by mankkeli inin the previous thread of this series, i called lurkers attention to the need of being discreet when contemplating an exit from the jw religion.
i mentioned that the thread was borne as a result of the general observations i made reading old posts here and discussing with many ex-jws and their lives have gradually turned out.
that thread alone was visited more than 2,980 times and graced with 204 contributions.

An Old Argument.... does it hold water?
by AK - Jeff inestimates range from 4 million to 15 million children die from starvation each year on this planet.
that's between 500 and 1700 children a day, depending on what numbers you accept.
still, no matter which numbers you use, doesn't this make you arrive at one of the following conclusions?.

Interesting discussion. As a former Witness, I can fully appreciate that " a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing." But there are many things learned that make sense. The greater issue of univeral sovereignty takes precedent over our personal issues. Believing that God will, in his time, correct these things is not unreasonable. To believe otherwise leaves us at the beginning of this thread.

Sitting Still at Meetings has Become an Impossibility
by venusinfauxfurs insince i know the truth about jw, and still have to go to meetings for family reasons (and because i don't want to leave my friends, either) i get so sick in my chair in the hall.
i can't pay attention, i can't sit still knowing it's all such a waste of time and a big fat lie.
i get weird symptoms like: the feeling that i'm going to almost pass out, very sweaty or very cold, and weak legs though i'm sitting down, and the urge to get up and run away.

I left after 50 yrs. in. All my friends & my oldest daughter I have left behind. Oh, and my exwife. It's been 4 yrs. now & it gets better as time passes. I have a new wife, life & friends. I can't tell you what road to take. We're all on separate ones ourselves. Whatever works for you. We're here to support & help. Good luck. One piece of advice: Live Well....Enjoy Life.

Woe to YOU, Congregation Elders
by Badfish in"woe to you, congregation elders, hypocrites!
because you shut up the kingdom of the heavens before men; for you yourselves do not go in, neither do you permit those on their way in to go in.".

Jesus condemnation of the Scribes & Pharisees was well deserved as they knew the truth yet worked against it. Indeed they are worthy of everlasting destruction. That principle holds true to only those who meet the same criteria. Many here, including myself were or are elders who sincerely (though mistakenly) believed what they were or are doing to be approved by God. Jesus did not condemn Paul for his actions for this reason. I think the only group that fit this is the GB. Rot in hell guys.

My step daughter's birthday is on Christmas. She turns 18 & I promised her a Caribbean cruise for her 18th birthday. I'm taking her & her girlfriend for a week through the Caribbean. Just the way I wanted to spend Christmas.......

Do you feel moved or obligated to check in on JW family?
by mamalove inif you are being shunned, do you ever feel out of obligation that you should be the bigger person and check in on parents or siblings who are still jw's and have nothing to do with you?
i have reached out to my sibling and get zero back.
it hurts, and i am angry about it, yet from time to time i still feel a tenderness in my heart and let it be known that the love and care and concern is there.

I have just my oldest daughter still in. She lives out of state & rarely contacts me about anything. I miss her & my grandchildren, but I understand the cult mindset. I hope one day she'll realize the truth, but until then I'm leaving well enough alone.
