DF,
I have a couple questions. Why is it taking over 17 months to get back in? Don't they usually reinstate in your locality, sooner than that? What kind of research did you do? What did you read?
is there anyone out there who is df'd and desirous of returning?
i am and would like to talk with someone of like mind.
i was an elder who did something stupid.

Scorpain,
Today, of course, they will tell you that they never said that. Since they have a record of either distorting, misquoting or burying their own history, the ones coming in, after 1980 are none the wiser. Most people never read their own history which brings a certain bliss to ignorance.
It is also interesting to read what they wrote after the event. They blame the rank and file for their misunderstanding which adds guilt to the poverty they have because they followed their leaders. This is exactly the same pattern you will find in their books before and after 1925. I have quotes for the 1925 stuff. In 1923, they stated that 1925 was "settled in the sriptures." In January of 1925, they said it "may or may not" happen. By September of that year they said the idea was injected into the minds of some of the rank and file by Satan. So first they fill the flock full of hope then they filled them full of guilt.
i have been having discussion with my sister (relative), who is an active witness, about writing a letter of disassociation.
the reason being is that i have not attended the meetings in over a year and it's been 4 years since i have went out in the jw ministry.. i going to try to sum this topic up.
my sister think that i should not da myself because i have not done any immoral act in her thinking.
RedHorseWomen, the exhalted one,
The month of January will soon be over, and we will need a New Heresy of the Month. Perhaps yours could be the February special! January's "New Order of Thinness" will have pretty much run its course by then. I will be there for you in February with my support, even though Thinker, The Thinner One, may see me as a traitor.
i have been reading all of your postings for a couple of days now.
i find this site to be very interesting and helpful (not to mention all of the people seem to be very intelligent, nice, and innately good).
therefore, i decided to join in.
Miss,
My last statements related to former witnesses. If her parents had never been witnesses, she would have gone if she could have convinced the rest of the family to have the funeral service conducted by a Witness, because this would be a "Witness to Jehovah". However, if it was conducted by a minister of any other religiion she probably could have gone but most wouldn't. I am am not sure if she is forbidden to do so or not. Again, why don't you ask her, her rationale, and if she is forbidden by the religion to attend such a funeral.

Dear Miss,
This past spring, my wife's sister died. She had not been a witness in over 30 years and did not have q withness funeral even though my wife's father tryed to influence his son-inlaw to have one for this departed wife. The witnesses came to the funeral home for the viewing, but none of them except immediate family came to the funeral service that was conducted by a Protestant minister. As I say, immediate JW members were there. Perhaps the shunning rules are implimented more harshly in some places than others. Some people posting here have written about some very devastating funeral experiences.
If you haven't yet, you may want to read the topic of shunning at this forum. Also, after you get further imput on this page, you might want to ask your friend why she chose her course of action. I would be very interested in what she would have to say.
whassup guys.
i've spent most of my web time over the last 2 years at another site full of ex-jdubs...i'd say about 50 people post there on occasion...many of that number regularly.. what struck me from the beginning, as i got to know the people posting there was...how many were now atheists...non-believers in god...the bible...pretty much anything they once held sacred as jw's!.
i dare say...90 some % do not consider themselves christian now!.
Thank you mommy,
I was very hesitant to post on this subject, because I sense that although some have similiar opinions, the majority differ substantialy from my view. I stated my case pretty strongly, but I don't want you to think that I want to discredit anyone else or promote any idea. I didn't come here for that, and I think that my beliefs are pretty much irrelevent.
For me, the main point of the forum is to help each other out where we can and have a little humor along the way as well.
heresy of the month (from a website).
don't you hate it when someone you know comes up with some new thing that you have never heard about?
you sit there in apparent ignorance as they pontificate about the proofs and merits of some idea so far beyond common knowledge that it can only be revealed by people of exceptional enlightenment such as they.
Flock,
Brother thinker points out another deep spiritual truth, that the faithful will lose weight even as they sleep. Thus, I am pleased to announce a new, companion magazine to The Leaning Tower. It willed be called, Asleep! On the masthead it will say "Sleeping Your Way to Thinness" Some of the exciting articles to look forward to are these:
Those Sleeping In Death Will Awake to Thinness.
When Armageddon Comes: Go To Bed And Take a Nap.
Don't Be Sacrificed Like The Fatted
Calf.

I know two jokes that younger people don't like, but older people do.
It has been proven that mental illness is inherited. Children give it to their parents.
A priest, rabbi, and minister were discussing when life began. The priest maintained that life began at conception. The minister said, "No, no you've got it wrong. Life begins at birth." The rabbi answered, "No, no you've both got it wrong. Life begins when the kids move out and the dog dies."

Dear Sweet Sister RedHorseWoman,
I understand your deep frustration, about not getting discernment regarding these new truths about the classes of parrots, turkeys, sheeps, and herds. I think with more study, it will become clear to you. Sister, I know you are meek and teachable, so all these things will come to you in good time. Have faith dear sister. In the mean time just remember not to roast your favorite parrot, unless of course you are completely out of groceries, then it is not a sin. Also, remember, never eat feathers.
I hope you feel duly uplifted and encouraged, soon you will leave the Herhsey of the month and join us fully in the Heresy of the month.
Say ahmen flock!

Charlie,
If your are refering to me, I'm Agnostic, and am not looking for attention. I've made over 300 posts here in the past couple months and this the first time I've explicitely stated my beliefs. They are fundamental beliefs, not attention getters. I rarely express these, either socialy or on a forum, unless I feel I am with good tolerant people, which is what I have found here.
