Just remember it was a bitter old drunk who lust for power and control who made mothers day a evil thing. It didn't worship him and because of that he hated it. He was able to twist the bible verse form (Ex. 34:14) to meet his needs. Totally ADD

Mother's Day Reflections
by JustMeNonJDub inlast night, as i was commuting home from work, i remembered going through my mother's things after she had died of a brain anuerysm a couple of weeks before.
my mom was the wife of an elder, and we were the quintessential elder family.
in one of her boxes, i found a mother's day card that i had made for her in first grade.

Happy Un-Mothers Day to the Shunned, Abused, Abandoned
by StinkyPantz2.0 intoday is the day to celebrate good mothers.
unfortunately, not everyone was raised by one.
here is a letter to my estranged mother: "mama, i'd like to introduce myself" .

My Mother did not abandoned me but she was very toxic in her relation to me all my life and to my wife. I sometimes feel it would have been better for me to have been raised in a foster home. Abuse and neglect was the norm in my childhood. Totally ADD

Anxiety Attacks At Meetings
by EmptyInside ini believe i posted on this before.

Anxiety Attacks was part of my life the whole time I was in the cult. As a guy giving talks, taking the lead in field service and on and on. As the years went by I got sicker and sicker. Nothing stop it except when I finally left. I still have what I call minor anxiety but not the full blown anxiety attacks I use to have. As a born-in the abuse I went through in the cult has taken its toll. Totally ADD

The self-made PARADOX of "witnessing" without Television or Radio
by Terry inwhat if i asserted the following as true?
the watchtower bible and tract society has no interest in an effective evangelical program of conversion.. .
would that sound silly?

I agree with you Terry on all your points. The reason I agree is just before I left a few years ago a letter to all body of elders brought out how the WT wanted their name on all congregation bank accounts. Their reason was it would be easier for congregation to send them money. What I saw was another take over of all monies the worldwide congregations have in their bank accounts. Every move they make is all about money. Totally ADD

JW ex-boss is such a horrid man!
by Julia Orwell inok, so my husband worked for this slave driver jw boss in a factory, and injured his back on the job.
so my husband has launched a compensation claim against the jw boss's worker insurance for unsafe work practices.
so the jw ex boss has responded to the claim with this mega statement affidavit thing.

No doubt the EX boss JW is a ruthless SOB. Most like him are. They use people and the WT system they are in to make their money. At the same time telling people how much they do in the JW cult. If I had all the money I was screwed out of by JW I could go out and buy a brand new car. They expect perfection from everyone around them except themselves. Totally ADD

I was a Jehovah's Witness in a different religion
by free2beme ini recently had a very long conversation with my mother, about what jehovah's witnesses teach and believe now.
while i could gleam ideas and thoughts, that kind of worked with the religion i once called home.
more often then not, i had to come to a extreme conclusion.

Just now saw this thread. Like you Pickler I also feel scotoma hit the hail right on the head. I to even though I will soon be 59 years old still have these deep feelings of saddness and unhappy feelings of my childhood. For me the isolation from all my parents relatives I never knew the isolation of not having any real childhood friends because they were worldly and isolation of having to go out in field service at an age of 6 years old and sell maz. at the door by myself the isolation of being the only JW kid in school and facing harsh treatment that my parents never had to go through. When it came to persecution I know for a fact it was the children of our generation who took it on the chin while the WT talk the talk but then did not walk the walk. Yes I was a JW in a different religion but one that was just as bad as the one today. It is still and will always remain a cult until it dies. Totally ADD

You are right Mad Sweeney on emotional control. Like fipper said some keep hanging on in hopes the cult will change. While others out of a emotional need try to get reinstated so they feel good again even though they know it's all a scam. Both my wife and I have been out for over 2 years now and there are those times the emotional thinking tries to take over but after thinking it out I get over it. It shows how controling this cult is. Even though you know it's a cult and destorys everthing around it. The control it has had on our lifes still effects us to some degree. If it didn't we would not be talking about it. Totally ADD

As a born-in I now see my ADD was a good thing to have. With ADD the harder I had to listen made me lapse into a dream world for 10 to 20 mins. When I woke up from it the boring talk was over and another one was about to begin. The cycle would start over again. Totally ADD
