I agree with Elderelite...and want to remind all that often the WT brags on how many escaped calamity because they obeyed God and were protected at the Kingdom Hall and that some who missed the meeting died! Several years ago a close friend died in a fire that was deliberately set by three customers who had been kicked out from the Country and Western bar he was visiting for the first time...he had just reached the drinking age a few days before and an older friend wanted to buy him his first drink. Some loving JWs said that he would still be alive today if he had listened to what the WT says about going to bars or clubs...Malsonella does not hold exclusivity on lack of empathy...he or she is simply showing the same brand of empathy taught by the WT.

JW tour bus crashes in Florida, with fatalities-
by moshe inmiami - a bus carrying 32 members of a church group hit a concrete overpass at miami international airport after the driver got lost, killing two elderly people on board and leaving three others critically injured, officials said saturday.. the large, white bus was too tall for the 8-foot-6-inch entrance to the arrivals area, said airport spokesman greg chin.
buses are supposed to go through the departures area, which has a higher ceiling, he said.. chin said the passengers told him they were part of a group of jehovah's witnesses headed to west palm beach.
police said in a news release that the group had chartered the bus to take them to a church convention there-.

JWs like to say: how do you know the transfusion saved the person's life...he may have survived even if he didn't take blood...Then when someone dies after he refused blood, they say the opposite...how can we know for sure that blood would have saved him....

Its general manager, Leigh McJames, said while transfusions can be life-saving, evidence showed up to 20 per cent of them could be unnecessary in some patient groups.
up to 20% of some patient groups...Compared to all patient groups, what is the size of this patient group where up to 20% of transfusions are unnecessary? How about showing the percentage of unnecessary transfusion for ALL patient groups...? The only reason you would segment all patients into groups is because the % is much lower when you consider all patient groups... You can spin the statistics to support any arguments.

Sorry about your loss Ken and deepest sympathies. I'm in my late 50's and I lost my dad and mom is getting on in years...she is the second youngest in her family so most of my aunts and uncles have passed away. When our family came to the "truth" dad and mom were still in their late 20's and we were convinced none of us would grow old or die before the end. We would all enter into paradise as a family...but the obvious reality still hasn't detered my family in continuing in the "truth"...but like every human that ever lived none will escape death.

Awake! 2013 - They finally dropped 'That' statement!
by Splash init's been widely reported on jwn and other places about the change to the caption in the inside front page of awake!.
from 1982 - 1995 it stated:.
"most importantly, this magazine builds confidence in the creator's promise of a peaceful and secure new order before the generation that saw the events of 1914 c.e.

The concept of new light allows the WT to make any change they want without alarming their members...and regardless of how much you tell JWs they are being lied to they just don't want to look at the evidence or even less see it in print. In their eyes the WT can't do anything wrong because they are directed by God who is progressively revealing his truth to them. The reduction in the number of pages of "life-saving spiritual food" or having one less meeting night should be starting alarm bells especially when the organisation says we are very close to the end...think about it, should we not have MORE support as this day draws near?

Meeting with my family doctor...
by NVR2L8 ini needed a prescription renewed and found out my old doc retired...met my new doc and took this opportunity to update my medical record...removed the no blood transfusion clause from my file.
i told the doctor that inconsistencies within my church's doctrines made it impossible for me to put my life at risk for no valid reason.
after throwing out my medical directive card, amending my medical record is another step toward totally breaking free from the cult.

For the sake of my family that is still in I decided to fade so I would prefer not being called out on this issue.

As our dear Oompa I ride a motorcycle and I recalled how his life was saved by a blood transfusion...sadly he felt that life as a pariah was not worth living...but that's a whole different subject...

Still, at first I hesitated briefly and was concerned because there is a JW nurse working at this clinic...but now I feel at peace with my decision.

What I think about the "We just love this idea" of David Splane
by Gorbatchov inthe jw.org video about the annual meeting contains david splane saying "we just love this idea", when talking about the adjusted fds doctrine.
"we just love this idea"????
when it becomes one of the fundament teachings of the organisational part of a religion, the rank-and-file witnesses are expected to be convinced about these kind of doctrines.

If you have had the CO or DO over for a meal...
by A question inhow long were they able to stay?
what conversation or other things did you do together?.

When I was a kid the CO and DO were often at our house because my dad repaired their cars...at that time the WTS did not provide a car or even pay for the repairs of the servants's cars...in most cases they drove old junkers and my dad ended up working for free and often paying for the parts out of his pocket. At that time my dad had to work two Saturdays a month to make ends meet and some of that money was used to fix the CO's car! In the meantime they hung around and ate with us for free...Of course during their congregation visits we would have them over again. A few years back when I was reaching out to be reappointed as a MS I offered to have the DO stay at our house. I knew him and his wife from my home town and while I was at work he used my home office to do his official business. His wife was a riot and my wife had a great time watching animated movies in our home theatre. During meals we spoke about the people we knew and some of the travel we did. I can't recall any time where we spoke about the WT teachings or even discuss Bible topics...
