  it has been said "the way to control people is to control information.

  " it's very true in the jw org.

  thats why on bible study sessions, people are usually excited to learn and see things in their bible they've never seen before!

  at the end of today's meeting, some over-righteous friends were discussing the various possibilities of armaggeddon occuring invisibly, considering the explanation given within the "parousia" domain on the invisible presence of christ in 1914. they reffered to some articles which i am presently looking through.. .

  while he was sitting upon the mount of olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence [pa?rou?sia, greek] and of the conclusion of the system of things?.

  "in our day, then, what is meant by the biblical expression the presence of our lord jesus christ?

  i just spoke to a witness friend (has been a witness 25+ years), who said that the elders in her congregation told her that witnesses had better be prepared to begin going door to door, not to announce "good news", but to denounce people who refuse to accept "the trvth".

  has anyone else heard about this?

  i thought it was a joke at first, but she said no, that's where the elders told her things were headed.

  Ridiculous "it must be the Truth"-type experiences in Bible Study

  two weeks ago during the bible study, we werein chapter 7 of the publication " 'bearing thorough witness' about god's kingdom".

  paragraph 16 and 17 say this:.

  16. christians today are priveleged to share in the work like that done by philip.

  Andre, an 18 year old brother from Romania has been battling with masterbation. Although his urges were very strong, Andre continued to ask Jehovah for help. One week later, a new Awake! article was presented by the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" entitled, Is Masturbation Wrong? "It was an answer to my prayers", says Andre. "I was able to see that masturbating (see Pornia) automatically makes me homosexual since I am technically having sex with myself."

  I really like article III

  It seems the Christian Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses is an entity that is there only to assist Jehovah's Witnesses in thier endeavors. I suspect they are able to surrender responsibilty for any actions of the Jehovah's Witnesses (a separate entity). I could be wrong though.

  i was supposed to study his stuff in collage, i let slip to the elders that i was supposed to study him and they went mental.

  like i was about to study the devil himself!.

  i was told that he inspired the nazis and that he belived that concentration camps were a great idea.

  i remember being from a small town and the first witness kid they ever had in my school. yeah..the holiday and birthday thing...that got me zero friends and persecution out the wazoo. believe it or not...my teachers gave it to me the worst.

  in a few weeks i am going to be disfellowshipped for being gay and my dad told me that i may want to read the two study articles coming up in the 15 july 2011, watchtower regarding entering into gods rest.

  Simpler version : We are only worthy of Jehovah's rest if we are obeying what he does/does't say as interpreted by the Watchtower.
