Palin had her facts right, and enough description to suggest that she had read Reveres own words about his capture by the British (rather than just Longfellow's romantic fictionalization). Longfellow wrote a nice poem, but he took some liberties with the details.
Clear simple true statement.
Palin's words: He warned the British that they weren’t going to be taking away our arms.
On the evening of April 18, 1775 Dr. Joseph Warren sent Revere and Dawes to warn Adams and Hancock of their impending arrest, then continue to Concord to warn the colonists there that redcoats were on their way to confiscate arms and military supplies. (Adams and Hancock were not to be arrested, because British General Thomas Gage disregarded the orders he had received to do so. Dr. Warren knew Gage’s orders before Gage did.)
Palin: By ringing those bells [we were] making sure (as he’s riding his horse through town) to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free and we were going to be armed.
Mitchell repeated Paul Revere’s warning that 500 New England men were mustering in Lexington. He told of the alarm bells and signal guns, and the volley of musket-fire near the Green….Others also remembered with vivid clarity this electrifying instant when they halted on the road, and Paul Revere’s warning reached them through the mouth of this highly excited captor, Major Mitchell.
Revere didn't ride through town screaming "The Brits are coming!" It was done quietly. However, he did warn the Redcoats they would be in shit if they went to Lexington. Palin has just exposed a number of ignorant snobs from both parties.
You can come up with all kinds of reasons for why she is right and 90+% of people are wrong, but the most simple and logical explanation is this: letting the media idiots decide who is intelligent and who isn't has to be one of the stupidest damned things about the country.
This is at least the second time she has done this, with the same reaction from the mouth breathers.
A few months back the libs went apeshit when she told Tea Partiers to "don't party like it's 1773 just yet!"
They were saying "1776 stupid!"
Doh! Stupid bitch doesn't even know when the revolution was!
Umm. No. The original Tea Party was 1773.

She was talking to a modern group that takes its name from them. Considering her and her family, I’d bet on there being at least one amateur scholar of the Revolutionary War among them.
Considering the number of times she has done this, she may be doing this on purpose.
So Palin is stupid....like a fox.
I hope she runs, and gets elected, because then I will be cheering when I imagine the looks on your faces.
