Never thought about it that way, N.
But, you do have a point.
does no one else think that scripture "no resident will say i am sick".
refers to jehovah?
no resident will say "jehovah is sick".

I always look forward to your weekly WT summary, Blondie. I wondered about this one. My family's hands got missed alot today at this WT study.
There were some comments we really wanted to make. The conductor, made sure the brownnosers got selected for those choice comments.
my mother told me of 2 young guys that have been appointed elders.. i could'nt belive it these guys have zero life experance and both their wifes walked out on them after a few years of marrage.. another one cooked his brain on drugs and his talks are painfull to listen to....all over the place and stumbles through them.. .
is it due to alot of young ones (60 to 70%) leaving and the pool to pick from is getting smaller so lowering the bar is the only way???
?.
The standards went out the door a few years ago. It's all about 10 hrs a month. The children if they are not publishing and putting 10 hrs per month of Elders/MS's they are not appointed. They are holding to this because the National Average is 7.5 per month in North America.
They are trying to get their groove back. They figure that if they hold some to that standard, then they maintain their control It's got nothing to do with the qualifications in Timothy, and Titus. They may consider that material for qualifications and discover some weakness in these, but will overlook it. The 10 hr qualification in not scriptural, but, non-negotiable.
i noticed that the koolaid/study issue of the watchtower now contains directed scripture citations in bold letters, such as:.
"read 1 corinthians 5:2".
i suppose this is consistent with all the other trends in watchtower-land, especially with their new brochure for the illiterate and mentally challenged, "listen to god".
No, Met...That's only in the Watchtower study. It's intended to be a "Must Read, in congregation" alert.
The Wt Conductor has to select a reader for that scripture. You have to wait for it. If you even touch it or comment on it before the assigned Reader has read it, the Attendants will drag your butt into that Elders room so fast, that you wouldn't have the chance to say WTF.
let say noah did manage to get all the species into the ark... about half of them would have been predators and the other half natural prey.. are we going to belive that they went without eating for 40 days and nights?
or the ridiculous theory as the wt would have it that noah fed them nice tasty bales of straw which they happily munched on?.
and even if one of these two exhuses were true, when the animals were let out of the ark into a world now deverstated by a flood, then wouldn't they have continued eating eachother???
Except Noah would not share his Kelloggs Grape Nuts Cereal. He was very protective of that cereal.
What's up with that?
it has been established that all the continants used to be joined together and indeed are still moving.. scotland is part of cananda and the mountians are still getting higher as is the himalayas.. england is moving back towards france, the isle of wight is going to join up with the mainland and then eventually france when they all join up again.. africa is splitting in two gradually and i think its the maldives that are sinking back into the sea?.
now as far as i'm aware... the jw's explain this by saying that the continants first spilt apart due to the flood.
but we have seen how if theres an earthquake, which dosn't move the earth too much, it causes huge tidal waves ( can't spell tunsiarmy) .
They use the scripture at Psalms 104:
over the many years my wife and i were captives of the watchtower organization we hired witnesses from time to time to heip us maintain our home.
one of those witnesses was a window washer who was quite good and reasonably priced so we have continued to use his services even after we faded 4 years ago.. so this year, my wife called to set up an appointment for him to come over and do our windows and he tells her he's not interested.
now this may be because he's so busy and overworked that he just can't fit us in or it could be that after four years of not being at meetings he has chosen to shun us.
Again, even better, tell your neighbour to say that he has two homes that need to be done.
Be careful not to tell him what the other home is. Then watch his face drop when you appear suddenly and say with a smile, "It's over here"
i do remember, but can't seem to find it, a watchtower comment that stated.
" relatives must decide on the emotiional needs of the df'd relatives to see what limited contact would be necessary".
does anyone remember this?.
But, how can they get around this one. It's printed in the WT...granted in 1974.
I remember being in trouble as a Chaperone at a Christian gathering. I allowed the kids to do the twist, and that song "Dancing Queen" A pious sister almost tore my face off. She found an article in the eary 60's that spoke against the twist. Poor Chubby Checkers, didn't have a chance.
Later on, at a wedding the Circuit Overseer's wife, and another Elder's wife was dancing the, "Dancing Queen".
But, I couldn't speak against the printed article. If you can still obtain it on the Soc CD Rom for research, it's still applicable.

AnnOmally, I could just reach out to you and kiss you. Thanks for the reference.
Thanks for all your comments, friends.

It's driving me crazy. I know I read it, printed it, but somehow lost it somewhere. Thanks for some of your comments.
NC: Thanks for your research.
