The direcTV guy came by today to install our new DVR. A pretty simple install as I already installed the telephone line, and the amp/switch box is about 5 feet below where the extra line needs to run.
So all the installer needs to do is give us the new DVR receiver, run one coax line, plug it all in and leave.
BUT NOOOOOOOO!
First, he shows up two hours late. I expected as much so I've already resided myself to working on some projects around the house.
After arriving, he spends a fair amount of time apparently doing "prep work". I don't have a clue what he was doing to tell you the truth. But he spent a good 45 minutes doing it. He then decides to install new face plates on our coax and telephone jacks behind the television. Granted, if he's going to install an extra line, might as well make it tidy by giving us a dual coax face plate.
This is when the install turns sour.
First, he says he has to go to another install and he will return to finish mine in a few hours. He did say he would get our system going with the one line before he leaves. When he returns he'll run the second line and finish up.
Right at the moment he's got his ass hanging out from behind the television he professes to me he's a Jehovah's Witness. He proceeds to inform me all about his church, his beliefs and how his life improved after converting to Jehovah's Witnessism He says had pretty much written off getting married, but apparently thanks to Jehovah's Witnessism, he's found true love. By golly that god fellow is a swell chap.
I'm not really in the mood to get into a big debate about religion. I'm not religious in the least and I find Christians attempting to convert me extremely rude. So, I excused myself to continue working on my project in the other room. In a few minutes Jehovah Bob calls me back to ask a question about our DirecTV service, which was just a sneaky ploy to get me back into the room for more of his Jehovah's Witnessing. He asks me a very direct question "How do you feel about this stuff?" -meaning religion, church, etc. I tell his straight out "I have read the bible, I've read about various Christian religions, and have decided I do not and can not subscribe to Christianity." I was foolishly thinking this would clue him into getting back to my install and away from Jehovah's Witnessing. WRONG!
He starts back in. Once again I tell him I do not subscribe to ANY religion and excuse myself.
Moments later I'm called back into the room by Jehovah Bob and asked another stupid question about my service, which, of course, moves very quickly towards religion. By this time my daughter has returned home from school and is doing her homework at the kitchen table (within earshot of this fucking maniac). She keeps looking at me with a puzzled look on her face. In a few minutes she gets up and hands me a note (she's 12 and passing notes are very important to a 12 year old). The note reads:
"Is he supposed to be doing his job or talking about religion?"
I almost died. What a funny kid.
Anyway.. It is now two hours past when he said he'd be back -currently 8:00 pm. If I knew DirecTV was going to expect me to waste all day with what the installer has done so far, I could have done it myself in 5 minutes. Let's see. Unplug old receiver, plug in new receiver, attach phone line. DONE!
Look. When a Jehovah's Witness comes to my door Watchtower in hand, I have the option of letting them in to talk religion. You sneaky little -uckers have no business Jehovah's Witnessing to me while doing a hired service in my house. I tried to be very polite and explain I did not witness Jehovah, Jesus, Andrew, Bob or anyone else. The only thing I ever witnessed was someone getting run over by a car, but that's different. You sneaky little -uckers stay out of my house unless invited to enter to witness. If you enter to fix my toilet, install the DVR, paint my living room or clean my carpet, keep your -ucking mouth shut about your religion! It is rude, unprofessional and quite frankly pissing me off.
I don't hangout at your church talking about my house so don't come to my house and talk about your church.
I've now called DirecTV and complained about their in-house Jehovah's Witness religious services and their half-assed install procedures. I told them if this -ucknut comes back and Jehovah's Witnesses to me I'm dumping their service on the spot. This happens all to often, talk about a captavie audience.! HHG

I have lost out in being in my mom's life when she needed me the most, just like I lost out in my dad's when I was disfellowshipped. They didn't even bother to tell me he was dying, and my jw family made my mom to afraid to contact me and tell me. They monitored our calls and would tell her to hang up. Mom was very submissive. By the time I was able to find out about my dad, I came to the house to see him and was told not to come back-he died a week later. I am so angry that I miss out on his last years. The very last words he told me when I invited myself into that home and please help me. Where have you been and why haven't you visited me. His illness prevented him from remembering I was disfellowship. Again, I did not want a repeat of not being there when my mom became elderly and ill..to avoid being banned from the house...I came back into the org (though it made me feel horrible inside to pretend) and I had that opport to be with her during her last days...She just died recently and do you know that the JW family and members hardly did anything to help her? In fact, their excuse was that they needed to get their pioneer time in or were just too busy or just plain didn't want to come over. The whole thing was disgusting. They were seldom there for support when I got care giver burnout, even when they lived in the same town. Now that is very disgusing! I am so glad I "pretended" to be a JW just to be a part of my mom's life as her care giver! I do feel bad I had to live a double life in order to have her in my life but oh well, what could I do-They are the one's that put me in this awful situation. So it's on them that I had to resort to this!
What kind of animals are these people ? And you wan't to be part of a religion that treats family like this ?? You are a sick person!!!! and the guys will be calling round with your straight jacket and key to your padded cell Piss off you ashole

New to studying I was a born in and have 44 years experience of the JW's, our family was torn apart when 2 of us questioned the WT teachings. My brother was DF and my sister also. I am a fader of 2/3 years now and my house is a do not call !

I am angry and bitter with the Jehovah’s Witness cult for destroying my life. 90% of my family is JWs, including my parents. I was born into this cult and never was given a choice on whether I wanted to be Jehovah’s Witness. I was spanked hard if I complained about having to go to the Kingdom Hall four or more times a week. I was forced to go out in ‘service’ (aka knocking on people’s door and bothering them) every Saturday and Sunday (more during summer break).
By the way, I want to apologize to everyone who I woke up, interrupted, annoyed, and intruded upon when I knocked on your door. I really didn’t want to do it. I was a kid and under 18. I didn’t have a choice. But still, I’m sorry that I bothered you.
My birthday was never acknowledged when I was growing up. I never got to participate in one single silly holiday celebration. I was never allowed to have friends (who weren’t JWs too). I wasn’t allowed to join any after school activities. Nothing. I’m 39 now and past the childhood exuberance that came from these milestones. Now I simply don’t know how to enjoy birthdays, holidays, and other joyful occasions.
This cult has ruined my life and so many other people’s. So many have died because of their ridiculous ban on blood transfusions. They used to not allow organ donations and many died. Then, they flip-flopped on their doctrine. So, what about the people who died before the flip-flop?
Speaking of flip-flopping doctrines, this cult does an about face so many times, even the average rank and file JW has trouble keeping up with it.
But question the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (JW Corporation in Brooklyn, NY) even once and you’ll see the ugly reality of cult life.
Instead of one charismatic, dominating leader (one hallmark of a cult), you have 7 old men called “The Governing Body” who direct everything the JWs do. They claim they’re of “the anointed.” Being “anointed” means you get to go to heaven and JWs only believe that 144,000 people that have ever lived will go to heaven. They are NEVER to be questioned.
So, if you disagree with the JWs, it is the same as going against god and you’re disfellowshipped (aka shunned, excommunicated). All of your family and friends who are JWs will no longer talk to you. I’ve known people who lost a family member and no one told them because they were “disfellowshipped” at the time.
They discourage people from seeking higher education. There is actually a damn good reason why they do this. They fear their members will wake up and see that they’ve been brainwashed. That isn’t hard to do actually. This is such an insane cult, simple reasoning and logic is enough to wake people up. That’s why JWs discourage its members from talking and associating with people who aren’t JWs. This includes family. They’ll turn parents against children, children against parents.
This cult has eaten up several generations of my family. This cult is like a virus. It needs to spread to survive. One family member who converts will set out to convert every single member of the family.
The problem is they’re very good at fooling people and throwing up a sparkling veneer. The happy, smiling person at your door will not tell you about the high level of control and intimidation once you become a member. Once you find out, it’s too late. You’re now invested emotionally, physically, and probably several members of your family are in.
This is a destructive and dangerous cult. Please, if you’re reading this and are thinking about becoming a Witness, think about it very carefully. Don’t let what happened to my family and many others happen to you.

Since 9/15/2010Today is the 1 year aniversary that my JW dad came the 9 miles from his house to ours. He always came every 2 weeks to see us and his grandkids to have a sunday roast dinner. As he was leaving he would always offer some money for the grandkids and as we are in the shit with money at the moment we had to take his money. We always thanked him and said make shure you have enough for your bills first !
Well this was the last time we have ever seen or spoken to him From my younger brother it was said my dad thought us a lost cause and he wanted nothing more to do with me his son or the rest of my family..we don't go to meetings but are just faders not DF/DA.
My JW dad was contacted in 1969 by a brother in the Chesterfield Congregation in the UK. Just like me my dad was a dick with money and he was always burning the gas and elec bill in the open fire. He was in massive debt ... and then they called on him... The JOHOES. I have new information on my dads debts from my moms sister's child who we have spoken to last week. The JW who called on my dad in the early 1970's offered to pay my dad's debts off if he came to the meetings and had a study Do any of you in the UK remeber this type of making a convert ?
I am so mad my dad has hidden all this from the 5 kids he brainwashed into the cancer. I have also found out from another family member that incest and child abuse were very rampant within the family and this is why my dad chose to hide within the JW congregation.
I am going to have to expose him now my mom jw mom has died. I hate my dad and my older brother they are both nice jws. Time to bring them down just like the Australian police in Victoria and Melbourne are going to..

THREE in four criminals who apply to work with children in Victoria are allowed to do so.
A five-month Freedom of Information battle by the Herald Sun has found the State Government vetting process that aims to stop dangerous or "unsuitable" offenders working with children has permitted more than 2700 criminals through the net.
Of those, 43 people convicted of child sex crimes have been allowed to work with kids, despite the Department of Justice's efforts to stop them.
Since vetting began in 2006, the department has stopped 765 criminals. Of those who had sought permission, 189 were child sex offenders, billed as the most serious "Category One".
But an analysis of the Working With Children Check process reveals 689 "Category Two" offenders - who include stalkers, kidnappers and drug traffickers to kids - were cleared.

The revelations came after a five-month Freedom of Information battle.
A department spokesman said the crimes were years old and isolated, but refused to detail the extent of the offending in each case citing privacy laws.
The Herald Sun has uncovered cases where those who have been granted permission to work with children have later committed disturbing crimes.
In one case, an after-school care volunteer and primary school gardener from Ballan admitted to 14 offences of stalking, making child porn and possessing child porn despite having been granted a permit.
It is understood the Government is exploring ways to tighten the Working With Children Check, which costs $15 million a year to administer and took effect in April 2006.
Since then, more than 780,000 permits have been issued, according to the FOI data.
Of those, 2700 had violent, sexual or other relevant offences in their histories.
The bulk - 2017 - were classified as "Category Three" crimes which include recklessly causing injury or obscene exposure in cases where the victims were not children and the crimes were years old.
No permits were willingly issued to the worst "Category One" offenders, which are defined as those who have committed sex crimes against children.
But the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal overturned the department's refusal to issue permits in 43 such cases.
Hetty Johnson, of child protection group Bravehearts, said the process did not go far enough because it was limited to a scan of the applicant's criminal and professional history, with interviews where necessary.
"All it will tell you is that the applicant has no criminal history but only 1 per cent of child sex offenders are ever convicted,"
