anyone following the derek chauvin trial?.

if you are actually following it, not just listening to the media, you will likely realize that there is a huge gap between what is going on in court and what is being reported in the media.. if the trial was fair, i think he should be acquitted.

there is plenty of reasonable doubt about the cause of death (his dealer doesn't want to testify because he could be guilty of 3rd degree murder for selling him a fatal amount of fentanyl) and even doubt over whether the officer even had his knee on the guys neck or did anything counter to what they were meant to do as per policy.. but is it fair?

Like I said - this is going to happen again and again and again. It had nothing to do with being black. The girl was stabbing someone else, or about to stab someone else. Nothing to do with race - but EVERYTHING to do with character and conduct. There is a lot more crime in the black community - and the black community needs to dig into that problem. It has to do with culture (stop the rap bullshit), focus on school, stop blaming whites, and bring back fathers. Unfortunately, the only way fathers will come back into the picture is if the black community stands up to the people they vote for (the left) and tell them that they don't want the government substituting for fathers.

Cops everywhere, the ones that want to stay on, will be meeting with lawyers to try to figure out what they need to do in order to stay clear of trouble like this. That might seem, on the surface, like a desirable outcome. But like with many things, you might want to think a few layers down, and try to calculate the net effects. The BLM types might think this will spur the type of police reform they want - less enforcement of law, and limits on how rough you can get with someone. But the police are trained to stay ahead of the situation, always using one level of force greater than the suspect to subdue that suspect. If putting someone on the ground is off the table, they will just escalate to shooting.

The next Chauvin will get out of the squad car with the taser drawn. Ask him to get into the back of the squad car, and when he does not comply, immediate tasing. If he shakes that off, immediate shooting. Done.

I think that the **net** effect of this will be policy changes that, overall, will cause the cops to be less understanding and more brutal.

What do you mean the guy is laying face down with no movement whatsoever, obviously blacked out with no perceivable pulse.

Right. But there are countless other times where a guy, doped up, laying face down, no movement suddenly pops up and starts beating the shit out of the officers.

You can see Crowder go through the same hold. It's fine if you don't swallow lethal doses of drugs when you realize the drug deal you are a part of is going bad.

What I find annoyingly stupid about this case is why did all the cops after one cop took a pulse check on to Floyd and said there was none did any of the cops make a suggestion to turn him over and try to resuscitate him ?

They can't - crowd. Plus, they don't really know. How many times have you tried to take a pulse but can't find one, but the person is just fine? Floyd had already taken advantage of the rookies there. If they had lost control of the situation, they would be blamed for that. If they had turned him over and let him die on his back, same result. If they had forced him into the vehicle (again), he would have just died there, annnnnd same result.

I Care a Lot (2020) One of the worst movies I think I've ever seen

my wife and i were intrigued by the trailer, which looked like a humorous, over the top, dark comedy.. the story centers around the unscrupulousness of a female attorney named marla grayson (rosamund pike) who makes her living by preying on old people.

grayson has her victims declared mentally incompetent, locks them away in a care facility she has bought off and then liquidates and pockets their assets as their court appointed guardian.. (spoilers ahead).

ms. grayson humorously makes the mistake of singling out a seemingly helpless retiree name jennifer peterson (dianne wiest) as her next target.. grayson however, quickly discovers that peterson has millions of dollars in diamonds in a safe deposit box and far from being helpless is the mother of roman lunyov, (peter dinklage) a russian mafia figure who is not terribly happy with this turn of events.. up to this point, the movie was great.
