Derek Chauvin - The Right to a Fair Trial
by Simon inanyone following the derek chauvin trial?.
if you are actually following it, not just listening to the media, you will likely realize that there is a huge gap between what is going on in court and what is being reported in the media.. if the trial was fair, i think he should be acquitted.
there is plenty of reasonable doubt about the cause of death (his dealer doesn't want to testify because he could be guilty of 3rd degree murder for selling him a fatal amount of fentanyl) and even doubt over whether the officer even had his knee on the guys neck or did anything counter to what they were meant to do as per policy.. but is it fair?

A better argument can be made that Chauvin's abusive and unauthorized restraint tactic exacerbated Floyd's demise....
Except the prosecution just put a “use of force” expert on the stand, and during cross, he admitted Chauvin could have used more force and still been within his rights.

Are You Concerned About Inflation?
by Simon ini saw a statistic the other day that something like 25% of all the debt that the us has incurred since 1776 was created in the last 12 months.
that's because they have printed so much currency and instead of letting that stop them, they are going to continue printing more to go on a spending spree on crazy green-new-deal schemes and union handouts.. does anyone think that this can be anything other than inflationary?
they are effectively stealing the wealth of everyone to then hand money out to people.

Yes. I am worried. I am going to get out of dollars and into assets this year.
The interest rate can’t be held low. If it is, the currency will inflate beyond reason. If it is allowed to find the market rate, the US will default.

Name an Amazing or Unexpected Fact
by Simon ini saw this on twitter the other day and it blew my mind.. tyrannosaurus is closer to us than to stegosaurus.
that is, when tyrannosaurus lived, stegosaurus were already fossilized and those fossils were older than tyrannosaurus fossils are today to us, by a good 20 million years!.
in a similar vein, the star wars prequel movies are now older than the original star wars movies were when those prequels were released.. how about that we're closer in time to cleopatra than she was to the pyramids being built.. what 'ya got?.

All of your genetic code is contained within the nucleus of each cell, with plenty of extra space. Yet, if you could unravel all of the chromosomes and place them end-to-end, it would be as long as your outstretched arms.

IF it quacks like a duck ...? WHAT IS IT?
by Terry ina question: "what does identity mean?
" if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck have feathers like a duck: it is a __?___.
hans christian anderson taught us this lesson in the famous story of "the ugly duckling" (**spoiler alert**) the ugly part of the duckling was misleading to observers who later discover it is a swan.

Mozart wrote a canon in B-flat around 1782, meant to be sung by 6 voices. You can listen to it below.
The title is “Leck mich im Arsch”. We often think of Mozart, and other classical composers, as writing very formal pieces. The title of this work literally translates “Lick me in the ass”. But it probably more accurate to translate it as “Kiss my ass!”
He wrote a couple other dirty songs too.

Did Jesus pick his nose? Do you really think he walked around for years in that dry desert heat without cleaning house?

Do You Think “Normal” Is Ever Going To Happen Again?
by minimus insince covid, our lives have all been affected.
do you think people will ever get back to normal, pre-covid?
are masks, vaccinations and social distancing the “new normal “?.

More responses like this are needed:
I would hope that it would eventually change from “that’s the whole point of a vaccine” to “shut the fork up”.
