Awake! to be part of Watchtower Public Edition!
by Atlantis inthis was posted on a jw site and it would be nice if we could verify.. .. .. as of february 2015, the awake!
will come as a part of the watchtower public edition instead of as a separate magazine.
this is a huge change... with serious cost savings.

From A Bublical Point Of View Did You Ever Think The Trinity Doctrine Made Sense?
by minimus ini see no logic in it.
i see what appears to be some scriptural contradictions but i see no merit in a trinitarian view of god.. .

No. I reject any form of the trinity 100%.
Now I don't believe in Jesus at all, if he even existed. He was NOT the messiah.

Could it be the number of jw under 5 million?
by Crazyguy ini was thinking about this last night, in the year book they publish the number or peak and average publishers.
as we know a publisher could simply be a child getting out in service regularly.
if two parents baptized have to small children that are publishers then they are counted as four.

Listener- which part of the annual meeting included the figures from August's report. Is it available in the talks they show from the agm on jw tv? thanks!
I also was thinking about how many adult publishers are there? I'd guess a lot of pubs are children who are forced out into fs with their parents.
I remember years ago they stated all baptized publishers are ministers. Does this include the 6 year who got baptized this summer?

Watchtower circulation jumps up!
by factfinder inthe jan. 1, 2015 w shows an updated printing of 52,946,000 copies each issue in 228 languages.. this is an increase of 7,002,000 copies per issue over last year, this is the biggest increase i have seen in the printing of the w per issue for any one year.
thus, including the study edition over 70 million copies of the w are now being printed each month.. .

They printed 108 million mags per month in 2012. If you subtract the public w and the g, it leaves over 17 million for the study edition. If g went up a lot too like the w, I'd expect about 1.5 billion mags were printed during the 2014 service year.
Since the simplified w is also in a few more languages the study edition printing must also have increased.
sir82- I'm sure the gb does want congs to decrease the amount they order. The gb looks to cut the printing budget more and more each year, so they can siphon off more money for themselves somehow.
But they want more pioneers, more pubs going door to door- then there will have to be a bigger demand for mags and lit to place at the doors.
Da.Furious- good point. A lot of people must be grabbing copies of the mags and books from those carts just to have something to look at since they are free. But the wts wants as many people as possible to be exposed to the mags so it serves its purpose.
jwfacts- good point. Each monthly issue has a larger print run as they are being used for the entire month. Still, the total monthly printing of all editions is higher now than it was when 4 issues were being placed door to door each month.
The coupon on page 16 for the Teach book indicates how eager they are to get rid of the current editions. For the past 2 years they encouraged you to download the copy from the website, now they have a coupon you can mail in for a printed copy so they can replace them with the new revised ones, which truly will contain what the Bible REALLY teaches. I guess the editions up to now don't contain what the Bible REALLY teaches after all, unless the Bible has changed its teachings! LOL!

It will be interesting to see if there were increases in pubs and pioneers.
I'm sure a lot of mags do get thrown away, of course most magazines of any kind do too, eventually.
OneEyedJoe- the figure was just the number that they print, not the number placed by publishers. I have never seen it jump up by so much in one year. Of course the gb may not be happy due to the extra expense of having to print so many more magazines.
There is also a small coupon on the back offering the Teach book. First time in 2 years they printed a coupon to send for a book instead of just downloading it at jw.org.

At what point will there be more ex-JWs than active JWs?
by NewYork44M ingiven the flow out of the organization and the inability to find new recruits, there should be a tipping point where the ex's out number the actives.
has there been any discussion related to this topic?.
because many within the organization are not true believers and are in various stages of exit this calculation is some what complicated.

It will be interesting to see what the reports are for this service year and the next few to come. Thus far there has been no mention in the km of any new peaks in the US this service year. And I remember when highlights of the new service report were mentioned at the annual meeting. None were mentioned this year, were they?
Steve2- I also was always interested in the statistics and used to use the monthly fs report in the km to come up with the total mags, hrs, rvs, baptisms and studies each month as well as the ave and peak pubs and pios!
I even used the distribution figures of magazines placed to estimate the total number printed and when I compared the YB figures I was always very close. I always wanted there to be new peaks in pubs.
Now it does not matter as much and I'm curious to see if we will see decreases again in the total publishers and other features of the report.
Tomorrow jw.org may post the Jan. 1, 2015 w online-it should have the updated printing per issue figure. I wonder if 2014 saw any significant increases?
I know there have been many becoming inactive in recent years, in my area we had 2 English lang. congregations at the kh but now there is only one.

What do you mean by "a massive hemorrhage of active publishers-in the wake of the 1975 fiasco"?
I began studying in 1976 and saw the congregation growing. According to the 1978 and 1979 ybs, there was a 1% decrease in 1977 and a 1.4% decrease in 1978. Those were the only years where the total publishers decreased. To me, those decreases are far from "a massive hemorrahage".
Here in the US, 1977 and 1978 each saw decreases of almost 3%. Then things picked up. The cong I was in saw steady growth.
Even if the number of x-jws is more than the number of jws, what does that mean? Why would it matter?

Actually I think god (if there is one) moved on long ago, creating other things in distant galaxies we will never discover. He is much more interested in creating new worlds, universes, etc then he is with paying much attention to us disobedient humans.
