I live in NJ too, about an hour south of the Meadowlands.

The Society is no longer printing hardcover books.
by kneehighmiah inletter read that the society will no longer be making hardcover books.
also the told people to not place orders for daily texts or calendars if they had the ability to download these.
who downloads a calendar?

No more hardcover books, not even HC for the Insight volumes? It is true the books do not need hard covers, but this is just another cutback in the printing budget, you'd think those in the cong would notice the gb keeps going after more and more money and would wonder exactly what are they doing with all the money?
They should withhold donations until the gb provides a report as to how the money is being used, at least a pie chart.
They no longer want to produce the calanders or daily text books either?
I like the new God's Kingdom Rules! book but notice it was made in Germany, not Wallkill, same as last years convention release the Imitate book.
What ARE they printing in Wallkill? Just the Bibles?

Attendance at East Rutherford on Saturday was 57,120 and 447 were baptized.
On Friday about 54,000 attended.
No figure for Sunday from article.
This coming weekend Spanish convention there.

This IC is very big news for witnesses and the attendence in Rutherford was over 140,000!
I'd guess witnesses have no clue about the conte case, or the shunning issues in Finland. Probably will never hear about it or pay any attention to it.
My jw brother would say it was made up by the media which is run by Satan anyway.

What new books are released this year?
by EndofMysteries ina relative called and said another relative called them and mentioned some book about the life of rutherford and russell.
is this correct?
i wouldn't be surprised if they were publishing more 'white washed' information to try to diffuse the facts people are learning when doing real research.

I like it. I'm up to chapter 7. It is not meant to replace the Proclaimers book and it refers the reader back to that book several times.

I recieved some literature today including the new book "God's Kingdom Rules!"
A nice surprise from a sister who attended the IC this weekend- attendence was over 140,000! This was at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ! She said it was fantastic & she was very glad she went.
The book looks very well designed. I plan to start reading it today.

I agree-it is what the witnesses need, but this gb is the opposite and will stay that way.
If any change can come, it would take a new gb to replace this one.
And yes , money & more money is all they care about.
We see this in the continuous reductions in the printing budget:
no more mail subscriptions, g only once a month, study w not distributed to public, public w & g reduced to 16 pages, most books produced as softcovers, more emphasis on tracts and brochures offered door to door, no books used in fs campagns except Teach book.
More emphasis on jw.org pdfs rather than getting printed copies, having congs print out forms or get them from Staples? or was it Cost Cutters?
I imagine the km will also be printed by the local cong off of the web site eventually and tracts too.
Transferring Brooklyn's printing & binding operations to Wallkill, followed 6 years later by transferring Wallkill's magazine operations to Canada.
Consoladating from 42 printing branches in 1992 to 14 today.
Selling presses and running others on 2 shifts, closing branches-
all to save money. What do they do with the money?
They are benefiting from it that is for sure. It is all about the money.
A new kinder, more open, less judgemental, sincere and caring, honest gb are needed. But how do you get one?
