GB teaching - Gays and Lesbians will be resurrected as Gays and Lesbians

the final talk of the saturday afternoon online convention is given by lett, sporting a creepy looking combover, which for some reason, looks creepier than normal.

he talks about how those resurrected will need to come into line with a new moral code otherwise they will be destroyed.

he uses an example of gay people having to turn away from their inclinations even though they may feel that they are perfectly acceptable.. this demonstrates that the gb feel that being gay is a taught behaviour rather than an imperfect unnatural desire, otherwise they would be growing out of that desire as they develop towards perfection, as they teach.

So the WT teaches that those who are resurrected will be raised with all the same sinful inclinations and desires they had the moment they died.

This would include not just things sexual but also things like lying, hypocrisy, pride, greed, covetousness, selfish ambition, and the like.

This would seem to me to mean that the millennial kingdom as described by the WT would hardly be a paradise.

just curious of others thoughts.....while watching the latest round of convention videos with my pimi wife it was highlighted again in the content how much the wt org.

has always focused on the past (in my opinion).

many of the historical events that are highlighted as significant are from 100+ years ago in some cases.

"overlapping generations" - this teaching makes no sense.

the word used by jesus is in the singular, not plural form.. .

Covering up pedophilia

Claiming to be God's sole channel of communication (except for Geoffrey Jackson when engaging in "theocratic war strategy" before the Australia Royal Commission)

Mistranslating Bible verses to match their doctrines (such as John 1:1, Colossians 1:16-17, Romans 6:7)

Requiring JWs to die and let their children die rather than take blood transfusions

Banning organ transplants and vaccinations as required by scripture and then dropping the bans without explanation

around 1975 he sold his farm moved his family to a very rural place and waited for the end to come.

he ended up working for his brother in law hanging drywall.

You're "spiritually weak" if you don't wholeheartedly buy into the latest false prophecy.

So you give up your home, your job, and your savings so you can go where the need is greatest and pioneer.

But after the prophecy fails and you're left without a job, without adequate insurance, without savings, and without retirement income, the whole thing was YOUR idea and YOUR failed expectations.

You're at fault for running ahead of Jehovah's chariot.

And now you're in danger of becoming an apostate if you entertain forbidden thoughts that the GB was at fault.

The false date, the hype, and the exhortations to give up everything to focus your entire life on field service right before the end of this wicked system of things were "merely an expressed opinion." (Rutherford, 1926)

"In its issue of July 15, 1976, The Watchtower, commenting on the inadvisability of setting our sights on a certain date, stated: 'If anyone has been disappointed through not following this line of thought, he should now concentrate on adjusting his viewpoint, seeing that it was not the word of God that failed or deceived him and brought disappointment, but that his own understanding was based on wrong premises.' In saying 'anyone,' The Watchtower included all disappointed ones of Jehovah’s Witnesses, hence including persons having to do with the publication of the information that contributed to the buildup of hopes centered on that date." (WT, March 15, 1980, pp. 17-18)

"...persons having to do with the publication of the information..."

This is probably as close as the WT will ever get to saying, "The GB's understanding was based on false premises. They believed their own hype and led many sincere JWs to financial ruin."

This thread is a good reminder of the devastating consequences the GB's erroneous teachings and policies can have on the people who trust them the most.

The whole WT system is driven by fear, especially JWs' fears of not proving worthy even after years of dedicated service.

Faithful for so long and now maybe blowing it right before Armageddon...

Just wanting confirmation on an unofficial JW experience

just wondering if anyone can confirm or deny this unofficial jw experience that my father received by email.

i’ve told him that it against wt rules to forward unofficial accounts.

but of course he just puts that down to apostate driven lies.

It reminds me of those little "at the door" skits at the KH where the householder listens with rapt attention to the whole spiel and then cheerfully thanks the dubs for coming and bringing her the message.

Never once did they tell the JWs to get lost and slam the door shut.

it is a challenge next sunday for them .

due to starting the convention programme the wt study will be a 30 minute run through ,and deals with this prophecy ... i doubt the younger ones are familiar with it at all bur oldies could debate it at length .we on the look out for the king of the north to enter "the land of decoration" (more to follow,maybe next week).

this article makes a grand claim in par 2.
