THE first one hundred students who met the qualifications were called to come to the Watchtower Bible School of Gilead by January 31, 1943. The qualifications for entry into the new school were at least two years of full-time service as a pioneer and also a basic education equal to about high school training. Inasmuch as then the second world war was still being waged, only American pioneers were extended the call to join the first class. The next day, February 1, 1943, the school was dedicated with a plain but impressive program. It was dedicated as a New World school of highest learning, with God’s sacred Word, the Bible, as the school’s basic textbook. N. H. Knorr, the school’s president, and several members of the Watch Tower Society’s board of directors gave addresses on this historic occasion. Later that day the school schedule of classes commenced. Five and a half hours of schooling are scheduled each of the five days of the week from 8:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. with one hour off for lunch at noon. Each day four classroom sessions and a lecture session are held. In the afternoon, from 2:40 until 5:40, three hours of domestic duties about the school and farm are assigned for diversion from school routine. Week ends are spent in doing research work and sharing in field service.
The school’s curriculum of studies is a full program offering 26 weeks of higher, college-level training equivalent to one year in secular colleges or universities. After ten years, in January, 1953, the Watchtower Bible School of Gilead was finally officially recognized by the United States Office of Education in Washington, D.C., as offering higher education comparable to professional colleges and educational institutions. This has enabled the United States Department of Justice and its Immigration and Naturalization Service since January 15, 1953, together with the United States Department of State (functioning through its consuls in foreign countries), to grant foreign students of Jehovah’s witnesses visas to enter the United States to enroll at the Watchtower School under the nonimmigrant student visa arrangement.

i am not a jehovah's witness but i am very interested, i have many questions and hope they can be answered here.. i do believe in god, privately.
i do say my prayers daily and do believe god helps me in countless ways.
but i don't go to any church.. i have always been impressed at how smart, polite and nice jehovah's witnesses are and i always make time to speak to them when they call at my door.

i find this hard to express properly but it seems to me that the rate of change is getting so rapid that nothing will be left of anything recognisable.
we used to say that any one coming back after 50 years would not recognise the "truth".. the entity existing now is totally different from 10 years ago.
it seems reasonable to suppose that this will continue to the point that nothing before 2010 will be safe to read for joe publisher (or possibly 'local instructor') so that he isn't corrupted or confused by old light.
It has basically disappeard right before our eyes ...hasn't it?

Seriously ..... the doctine, dates, preaching, social acceptable
activities, terminology, # service hours, # assembly days,
length of talks, # of meetings etc etc..... everything has changed,
and you will be df'd if you don't believe the new made-up stuff!

At this point all the literature that has been printed in the
past is obsolete.
All preaching done has been NOT at the 'right' time ..all wrong.
All those people who should be now living in'paradise are dead!
All a complete fail!
The 1919 picking of 'faithful slave' has admittedly wrong &
they won't be picked till after great tribulation ...did you notice
the fds assured us that god WILL pick them tho ....... really!!!!
So those slaves who are not even picked yet ....are still cracking
the whip over all!

date & will be trashed (groan) & they have nothing left to say...
watchtower is already gone!

i just heard this about a co i knew back in the day before he was even a co. he must be in his mid-late 40's now, my mother told me the story as she knows the family very well (the entire family has gone 'apostate' including several elders, circuit overseers and missionaries - this was an "example" family, always on the stage etc).. he wasn't 'feeling well' so he took time off from his co duties.
that week he packed his suitcase, told his wife he can't do it anymore and he's leaving, leaves her the car and the house and went to live in a small apartment, bought a small car and a week later got a decent job.. this was very recent so not everybody within the org has heard yet what happened..

we attended several different congregations in different states, and the one common thread among them all was...if you had your study article highlighted, you were a good jw.. honestly, how often did you cover over your magazine when the attendant walked by handing out copies to visitors?.

I know crazy huh? I was getting so that I just slashed a
