" then he said, "didn't jesus say that satan is the father of the lie?
so if jws are taught by their god that lying is okay for religious reasons, doesn't that make satan their god?

I'm really irritated by that term. Basically the use of that word is a declaration of war upon those who can't subscribe to the idea that the WTS, the GB and the elders are infallible, despite the denials to the contrary. I simply refuse to play by their rules in my own personal life anymore, wherever I can avoid it. I don't want to go to war with them, I just want to live my life without their intrusions. If they really do pick a fight with me though, the outcome won't be pretty. I won't take it lying down.
Why don't those of us here come up with our own terminology already?

so, most here probably think i'm depressed all the time,which isn't true.. but, i had a long distance romance, and now he doesn't even respond to my e-mails.
we have been talking for almost two years now.
I'm sorry to hear about your grief over a long distance relationship but they aren't an easy thing. You have to have a plan of sorts. One cannot expect a LDR to remain so over the long term or indefinitely. One of the parties eventually has to make up his/her mind to move closer to the other if the relationship is to continue to grow and thrive. Do you see this guy face to face much? How far apart do you guys live? Specifics are always helpful...

Anyhoo: Ah, who else would post here first but ziddina? I wouldn't have expected anything else. Zid, your input DOES belong here. BTW, what exactly do you mean by the neo-polytheisim thing anyway? What is it to YOU? I admit that I am highly skeptical of scientific/achaeological dating methods that have come out so far. I find it hard to swallow any extraordinary claims as to the chonological dating of any ancient artifacts and writings. There seems to be too many unreliable claims as to the specific ages of the oldest known human writings. I guess there's a crapload of digging I'm going to have to do there.

i was very disappointed in one of my friends near here.
he is df'd.
he started smoking cigs.
After the kind of day I just had, I picked up a pack of rum dipped "Colts".
I had a strong aversion to cigs throughout my teens until I left The Lie for the first time. I had a few drags here and there at parties and get-togethers. I even learned to blow smoke rings and "cheeri-o's". I've bummed a Colt or two from co-workers here and there. I also tried snuff once. (Note to self: never swallow the juice, always spit!) I never got "hooked" at all. Now that I'm out again, I'm thinking about trying a little pipe tobacco eventually. I'm okay with it all as long as it's strictly social/recreational and not an actual addiction.

On Internet Explorer and Firefox there is something called "privacy mode". Use the key combo CTRL-SHIFT-P to access it. All temporary files, cookies and history are either erased or never recorded in the first place. Check it out!

its a "worldly" holiday and both my daughter and i are at home, not in service.
i got up, made us breakfast, (sausage and eggs) and now i'm playing on jw net.. on the downside, my wife and son are out in service and i have to sit down and put together my service groups time and turn that in to the secretary... (although my son didnt want to go.. he complained "cant we just have a chill day".. i was going to let him stay home but he changed his mind to go see a friend who said he was also going out...).
all you active jw's... did you or are you going out..or are you ditching?.
I haven't stepped out on the streets in a monkey suit for about two years now. Feels good to be free! Bumming around my sister's place.

not long ago i had 100 'friends' - or so i thought.
i certainly had 100 or more people who said they were friends.
then i left a cult, and found myself with very few friends - those kind in the flesh, in the community.
I really have no friends to speak of ATM. I go to a support group once a week but they're not really "friends" yet, if any real friendships can be found there at all. All my family is either out of town or overseas. I'd easliy be dead for two or three weeks before someone finds me. As Terry said, I hate the thought of living and no-one noticing that I exist, nevermind when I'm gone...
