Don't have to work Baptism pool because of getting turned on by the women?
by soundbox_guy inthey want me to work the baptism pool, but i don't want to.
you imagine i could just say that i'd be tempted by all the half dressed young women walking around dripping wet with their feet showing and it wouldn't be good for me as a brother since i have an active imagination and a foot fetish?
nahhh....i wouldn't tell them that, but they do want me to work it though.

Acronym help appreciated
by sonnyboy ini've been out of the org for around 10 years, so i'm not up on some of the jargon being used on the board.. would anyone mind making a list defining the acronyms being used (as many as you can think of)?
i know there are tons of them; some of which are self-explanitory, and others have me stumped.
i see a new one every time i log on.

Way to go aniron - that's right, 'religion' is a snare & a racket, isn't it?! Of course 'truth' can't be classed as a mere religion, just like all the others?!

INLAWS
by Es inwhat is it with the majority of inlaws that seem to thrive on making your life hell???
?my fiance's mother is really getting to me ive put up with a year of her opinions thrown in my face and year of her telling me how to raise my son.
she has completely taken over our wedding day and at our engagement her daughter who is also my bridesmaid turned up 2 hours late to our engagement party drunk and brought her friends and had her own little party, it aslso took her another hour to come and say hi to me!!!

My first reaction was 'nope' - I'd travel & spend a lot more time with my husband & daughter.
However:- I'm at uni studying history & if I get a PhD scholarship I would definitely continue on with that even if I won the lottery, cos I love it. But I guess the pressure would be off, & I wouldn't have to worry so much about getting a job at the end of it. I think there comes a point with any job you do, even if you love it, where a bit of time off would be great!

Thanks Prophecor I agree that it becomes more like a business arrangement ... Yes, I'm married - almost 3 years, with a 2yo. Till Death Do Us Part is a bit depressing sometimes ...
A friend said to me that her marriage is more peaceful now that they both realise they don't have to be together, but they choose to be. She doesn't have kids, though.
Just having a bad day ...

Apostates commit the unforgivable sin and will NOT be resurrected.
by gumby ini posted this on another thread....but as usual, when i posted it, the thread died and so i thought i'd put it under a different subject as it's worth re-reading.. the society has always said nobody is the judge who commits the dreaded...."unforgivable sin", but they sure the hell do not having any trouble making a statement concerning apostates as commiting the unforgivable sin.. 1982 watchtower 4/1 p.26-28 .
" jesus told the unrepentant scribes and pharisees that they and their gentile proselytes were subjects for gehenna or, literally, sons of gehenna.
(matthew 23:15, 33-35; see also john 9:39-41; 15:22-24.
