  What is wrong with these women, why are they trying to kill me with sex?

  i have had a rough couple of weeks with these kidney stones.

  i would have liked to take a few days off to recover but i have contracts to complete before i fly off to frenchbabyface land.. this last monday i was hurting pretty bad but managed to suffer though a day of site prep for a big tile job.

  i came home about 3 pm and cleaned up and went to bed.

  Mav,

  Quite the predicamant-offers of sex from every angle, and ya just don't feel up for it. On one hand, the idea of having sex gets your mind off that @#@$@ pain for awhile, but the actual thought is far more productive than the act itself in this case.

  My husband is going through the same thing right now. He had to have laser surgery and litho for his (his ureter was blocked by a 7mm stone). It's been two weeks and he's still in major pain (has to stay off meds when he goes to work, but comes home, takes his meds, and goes straight to bed). And he still has one more side to go-ugh!

  If your lady friends have had kids, you could ask them if they wanted to have sex when they were in labor. That just might help them understand what it feels like.

  Ridicule or Reason on JWD? What do you do?....

  do you think its right to ridicule jws on this forum or reason with them?

  so many threads.

  I don't personally make it a habit to ridicule anyone, but I am one of the ones who has admitted to burning my literature and feeling good about it. But hey, how many times did we hear about those "magic practicing priests" who burned all their books when they left their "demonic" faith? How many times were we counselled to get rid of, not only our books, but pictures, decorations, or anything else that wouldn't "please Jehovah" (or maybe lead us to 'gasp' think for ourselves)?

  Book burning is a powerful symbol, one I chose to utilize for myself. I don't tell other people what to do with their literature. I don't collect literature from public places and throw it away or burn it.But I did choose to symbolize the end of my relationship with an extremely authoritarian religion that has hurt me to the core by reducing to ashes my personal collection of all of the dogma they preach.

  I am not sorry for what I did. If anyone lurking here is offended by it, I suggest that they start perusing the posts here. Maybe then they will understand why some of us are hurt or angry enough to take this action.

  `Finished Mystery' 1918 edition sells for $61 on Ebay

  this recently concluded sale on ebay prompted a question on nature of the secondary or ``collectors'" market for old and out-of-print wt literature.

  apparently, it's become a fairly well-established collecting speciality.

  as do collectors in the more established collectible sectors of, say, coins and postage stamps, one would imagine that in time the players would sort out issues relating to ``fair market values" of the various old books and other material, their relative rarity, etc., and that collectors guides, reference sources or price lists would begin to turn up.

  I have one old book I found at a yard sale and bought for a dollar, I think. It's the one with the pyramid overlay in the front. Can't remember the title. I burned all my other books in a nice big bonfire, while I sipped a glass of blackberry wine, but kept that one.When I checked Ebay, it was only selling for $6.00.I hung onto it as a reminder of a part of my history.

  I have another non-JW book that I found out would be worth about $5,000, if I hadn't worn it out and damaged it by reading it so much when I was a kid. I wouldn't part with it, anyway, though. My grandfather gave it to me.

  Do you fear the big A and does the conflict impact your actions?

  on another tread this point came up.

  scotsman posted a comment about a certain poster being gay, and i do not know or care if this is true or not, and in conflict over the fear of dying at armageddon for this "sin".

  do any of you fear the big a because of your lifestyle?

  Ditto.

  But to be honest, I never gave a lot of thought about Armageddon even when I was a Witness. Except maybe for the STUPID article a couple of years ago that stated that unbelieving mates would die at Armageddon. That presumptous attitude pissed me off!

  there are more issues at hand about which i posted earlier.. i cannot give updates on these delicate matters for fear of serious repurcussions.. some of you might remember what i'm talking about.

  I hear ya, Avenger. Something similar may be happening to me right now, and I AM DA'd.

  In answer to your question do real friends exist-yes they do. But real friends don't try to control you, nor do they side with people or organisations who are trying to control you.

  We all have our breaking points. Sometimes I think JWs make it a mission to try and find them, so they can make us out to be the "evil apostates" (their religion must have scapegoats for it to be valid).I've worked hard since I was out not to let them goad me into behavior they can point to as being "typical" of apostates. But it never seems to end. Now I understand why so many have gone on the defense.

  Just keep in mind, Avenger, most of society DOES agree with us about the JWs. I've opened up to some of my new friends, and their understanding and support helps a lot.

  Freedom of speech, cousin Jeb and the Bin Ladens

  well, despite not having the much touted "freedom of speech" that america enjoys, we will get to see micheal moore's new film "farenheit 911" whereas america, for now, won't.. the film links president bush with powerful saudi families including the bin ladens.. seems disney (based on florida) have blocked the distribution because they are afraid of losing tax breaks by way of retaliation ... handy having cousing jeb as governor isn't it?.

  my anonymous reader has an interesting questionhow others helped us think.

  for me, it was two things:.

  a high school teacher asked me, "does it make sense to you that god thinks that the people at your kingdom hall are better christians and more worthy than say....mother theresa?".
