just wondering - new game out, developed by the us army.
it's based on the unreal tournament 2003 engine, so it looks pretty good.
decent gameplay, a lot of innovative features for shooters.. best of all, it's free.. wondering if anyone else has taken a shot at it yet?
Xander: I would still check out Thief if I were you. The 'thief' experience is extremely well done.
You can probably get it in the bargain bin. It is on my top 10 list which includes BG, Deus Ex, Fallout, GTA3, Morrowind, NWN, Civ series, XCOM, Torment, Diablo, EQ, Q3A

That statement of yours has got to take 1st place in a contest of stupidest things said. "LORD" is a title for God, not his name. "LORD" speaks of what he is, not who he is.
On the contrary, your statement here takes that prize. A name is just a sound, it carries no meaning other than to identify a person. By itself the identity is useless; WHO a person is involves more than just the sound you make to identify them.
Some guy comes along and says "I need to see all your financial records." You say "Who the hell are you." Which answer carries more meaning:
"Bob Smith"
"I'm your IRS auditor".
Clearly "Bob Smith" is meaningless. Or let's say you are at visiting a friend and are at lunch and you notice everyone whispering about someone at another table. You ask your companion "Who is that?" Which answer gives actual information?
"It's Mike Jones"
"It's the Mayor"
And how about this rebuttal folks:

My mom and dad also have personal names but I consider it disrespectful and emotionally distancing to call them by those.

I agree with MikeMusto - The power of the 'God's channel' concept cannot be underestimated. I haven't seen any changes in the attitude of my family who are still in. NONE, nada. Despite easy availability of info on the internet, Dateline and Panorama, etc, the truly sincere, faithful witnesses will simply not be affected. They will not question the FDS. The FDS=God to them. They can effectively ignore negative information indefinitely.
i just had to go to meeting tonight to hear the material on the internet.
it was the usual stuff about pornography, many scriptures and three mentions of how jehovah was giving this material to the slave to give to us at this time, so there must be a reason.
of course, satan got three mentions too as one who is trying to ensnare us into abusing the net.. and of course, nothing on the net can be trusted, per the fsd.
we should be not allow our children to make arrangements to see people they meet in chat, as they could be paedophiles pretending they are children.

Jeez I remember when I was a kid believing that as JWs we truly understood the bible, understood scriptures in context etc. And that worldly folks were the ones who ignored context. Amazing how I could believe something like that strongly without even investingating it. I just accepted it. JWs are particularly bad about ignoring context, to support their wacky doctrines, such as two class christian system, blood, etc.

i waas reading janh post on the chemicals in our brains relating to various phenomenon.
started to think about the subject of astro-projection, also known as out of body experiences and even sometimes called lucid dreaming.. this is a cool site i found on it...... .

The question is, can you OOBE to a place and get information that you couldn't get otherwise, to prove you were really OOBE not just imagining it.
