Hortensia,
I'm American. I couldn't care less about celebrity. I don't even watch television and hardly ever go see a movie. But I am fascinated by the royal family.
i'm a royalist myself i believe that there is merit in haveing a non political head of state and regardless of our political differences we can be united as one country.
we have continuity 'the king is dead long live the king ' [or queen].. i am intrigued by our american friends still haveing some interest in our head of state and the royal family.. is it celebrity status?
do americans regret not being part of the commonwealth?

I admitted to my (closeted) royalist leanings on this thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/257517/2/Anyone-want-to-guess-the-name-of-our-future-king
*hangs head in shame*
I think they may pass on the name Edward.
As for names...I am guessing one of the names chosen for His Royal Highness Prince XXXXX of Cambridge (amongst the several he will be given) will include at least one or more of the following: Charles, William, Philip, or George.
i don't get it.
(and i don't care about america's "royalty" either)..
I do. And, I'm not proud of it, either.
Their Royal Highnesses appeared with their newborn son outside of the Lindo Wing just a moment ago. The Duke of Cambridge said they have not yet chosen a name. He made a remark about the baby's lateness. I watched it live. They spoke a bit to reporters. I am so very impressed with The Duchess of Cambridge. I believe she has a strong sense of duty. She will surely be a very popular queen someday.
I would not like to live my life in the spotlight, nor have I ever wished to be famous. I can't imagine living the lives they live. I am, however, a very closeted royalist. It goes against my political and personal beliefs. Still, I cannot help it.
I have seen the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in person, along with His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh. I have actually received one letter from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother a few years before her death, as well as one from Queen Elizabeth II.
I just LOVE it. I have studied royal history. I follow every detail. I know all the appropriate protocol...I honestly can't help it. I don't want to love them. I don't tell people any of this in "real life." I remain...a closeted royalist and a huge fan.
Please don't hate me for admitting this.

whenever i would try to talk about somethign from the bible that the jw's got wrong or reason on a scripture that had so much feeling you would stomp all over it.
talking about "flying spaghetti gods" and laugh at what seemed to be my expense and then leave the thread never to return and add any substance.
Tammy, I do think, as you point out, that the OP was clear.

Ha! Simon posted his post as I was writing mine. Sorry for the overlap.

Humming,
You wrote: " I thought most of the atheists werekicked off this forum? And the ones that are left are restricted?" This hasn't been the case for me, nor for the athiests I know and am friends with here on JWN.
I really don't think Simon has a policy against having athiests here on JWN. What is important is how people behave, not their beliefs. But I certainly am in no position to speak on his behalf. This is simply what I have concluded.

Confused,
I feel very strongly that we all need to respect that others have their own views and not disparage others. That doens't mean I respect all views. The truth is that I don't respect all beliefs and views. But I respect that others do have different views from me. I believe I should treat everyone as I would like to be treated, too.
I have come to my own conclusions but do not push those on others on here or anywhere else. I am so sorry that some have mocked or disparaged your posts. I also understand your beliefs are evolving. As we grow and mature and experience life, we evolve in our thinking on issues. Some make greater shifts than others when it comes to religious belief.
We are all in our own unique places on this journey. Fortunately, most people on JWN are respectful.
